Thank you Herweh, this really is an impressive work  !!

As a copy/paste programmer (spelt really dont know what Im doing script wise) with only a little trial and error

have managed to get Trigon displaying scores and credits correctly on the b/glass.

Fantastic depth of options available - Thanks for all the effort you have put into this.

Hi,

This is great stuff, I must say I agree that this is one of those pivotal moments in VP history, so thanks to all who worked on this (backglasses designers too!).

In waiting for a "baseball" new backglass to be done (to fix the beta version which does not work anymore), I was cracking my skull trying to remember a post that said if I was to load it in the designer, it may be able to fix it. I found the post (by LTA) here:

http://www.vpforums....072#entry211750

However, when I tried to load the Baseball 1.0 FS.directb2s into the designer, I get "can't import this 'directB2S file.  Necessary infos are missing.  Please update the 'directB2S' backglass file to a newer version."

I gather things changed too much that its no longer compatible, or am I doing something wrong?

note:  Yep, I went through the help file a bit, well done and saw all the references to "baseball'.  The problem is as the help file indicates, "basic knowledge about 'Visual Pinball' table scripting" is good to have... but I don't have that :(

As I indicated in another thread, no problem with waiting for a fix to that B2S backglass, just when I thought of LTA's post, it made me think there may have been a quick fix for this one.

You're right, here we go with 'Baseball': http://www.vpforums....s&showfile=7559

And yes, for Originals or EMs you need some basic knowledge about the VP script coding. Please check all my 'subs' at the end of the 'Baseball' script code. This is the level you need to understand since all the communication between table and backglass is, without VPinMAME, just in the script.

Thank you, very appreciated.  I will try and see if I can sort it out, I gave up scripting back in the MS-DOS batch days :)

And here we go with designer version 1.2. Some minor bug fixes done, no new killer features but you need this designer version to import backglasses created with this designer version.

More version info and change log here.

I strongly recommend to update to this version.

Best regards, Herweh.

Hey herweh

I'm making an em and have just added a b2s i quickly knocked up to test. All working fine apart from an error that happens when the score gets rolled past the 6 digits back to 0. The table does need to be made alot harder , so it shouldnt happen too often anyway.

Is there some way to prevent this? Maybe I'm missing something in the guide.

Cheers

Also before i forget, Is there a way to change the reel sounds?

Hi Chepas,

this is a bug in the current server version. Workaround is to handle this score rollover in the VP script, maybe show a bulb with this score (100,000 or whatever already done in some EMs) and restart with the score at 0. I will fix this in the next version.

And sorry, right now there is no way to import different reel sounds. Is a nice feature for the next version.

BTW I will start a thread "what can be improved in the B2S server or designer" in a few days. "Reel sound import" is something we should put on this list then.

Best regards, Herweh.

Thanks, i'll look into it.

No probs , any sound options for reels you can throw at it is good :)

"what can be improved in the B2S server or designer"

Yep great idea if you don't mind working to improve it.

Also have been using it a fair bit just for playfield lights & gi. Have your lights where you want saved in B2SD and make different exports of lights quick for testing etc. Is there a way to multi select lights in B2SD? Maybe another feature to leave for thread :P

cheers

Is there a Lamp Issue in the Designer ?

I tryed to set the Lamps on "Addams Family THING" higher, but the Intensity have no Effect ...

Or do a "Snippit" Image with Light on example "T", but this dont flashing with the correct Rom ID ...

"Reel sound import" is something we should put on this list then.

Dear Community,

is there any way to adjust the level of click sound of EM BGs when turning the score reels? Reason for the question is: there are many tables I would like to have the "machine music" more in acustical focus than the score reels.

Thank you in advance for your tipps and ideas, Christian.

In the meatime I found a "silent" EM with calm clicks. It uses the variable:

Dim ReelClickVol :ReelClickVol=0.5

When I use the same definition and its adjust in a louder clicking table it influences the reset of the reels, only. Not the reel clicks in game play. I tried to repeat "ReelClickVol=0.5" in the addscore sub, no effect.

Any idea or hint?

Thanks in advance, Christian.

Never have seen that, i only know, you can Import "EM Style" LED - they don't do a "Click" … but a bad Solution imo.

This is still the latest BG editor? Never designed one before, but looking at the options for hybrid shuffle alleys. I use a single screen which is basically just the BG, wondering if better to just design BGs with this and only use VP for the script only. Would a BG stay on the top when running with a table with no graphics on a single screen?

That is the editor yes

And yes VPX should call up the backglass automatically is named same as the table file
and if b2s setup has the proper screen settings it should appear where you tell it, at what size you tell it.

And of course you can design your backglass image with a DMD spot

May i ask a question

This is a purpose built, single game machine right?

Rather than use pinballX, why not have the machine direct boot into the vpx table? No front end
I think you can have the table script stow the pins on table exit for when you shut it down.

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways
