Thanks for this new B2S System.  For those of us who have not been closely following the WIP thread, can you please clarify:

1. The script that needs to be added/changed in tables to support this

2. Which tables will support this new system.

Thanks.

Hi stuzza,

every VPinMAME controlled table is supporting this new server. You just have to change the VP script line

Set Controller = CreateObject("VPinMAME.Controller")

to

Set Controller = CreateObject("B2S.Server")

The new server also supports EMs and Originals. In this case you're going to download a 'directB2S' backglass file and a modified table (in one ZIP normally). This is like you know it already from Rosve's B2S tables.

You will find a 'readme.txt' file in every backglass ZIP. And I'm planing to tag a 'how to' explanation thread in the new directB2S backglass forum's area.

Best regards, Herweh.

Thanks for the new version and the continuing development.

This new version is causing me a problem though. I tried the new Sorcerer and Pinbot backglasses and on my two-screen cabinet, this is what I get:

Attached File  Sorcerer_bg.jpg   59.34KB   107 downloads

The gray thing under the backglass doesn't want to go away. I'd like a full screen backglass, without the ugly gray bar covering the lower 20% of the screen.

I checked my ScreenRes.txt file and it is configured correctly. Earlier versions of these directB2S backglasses worked fine, so I don't think it would be my wrong setup causing this. Or is it? What am I doing wrong?

I didn't see any option in the B2S configuration window that would defeat this.

Interestingly the new Genesis directB2S backglass from Westworld does not have this issue, so this again tells me that my setup should be still OK. Also, Haunted House works fine too. Does this mean that these new backglasses were designed this way? In that case, can we get the old ones working with the new server version? The older versions give an error message with the new B2S server, so I would have to return to an earlier server version if I want to run these again.

wow, Herweh awesome to see all the new backglass's flying into the download section. Thank you for the release..

I am having a problem with 3 tables, I've updated to the new 1.0 Blackglass Server all the new tables run great but a few old ones I've already had installed in I'm getting a weird problem. Mind you I re-downloaded the new files as well for the 3 old tables.

Here is what I'm getting on these tables Cosmic Gunfight, Pinbot and Sorcerer once again they were working fine until I upgraded to 1.0

startIndex cannot be larger than length of srtring.

Looks like we have a couple of threads running again. I normally don't mind that, but makes for troubleshgooting a bother, especially when the answers may be found elsewhere already.

I too am having some issues:

Thanks Herweh for your hard work on this project and thanks again to Rosve for B2s in the first place.

Looking forward to testing it out on the cab machine.

You have to use the newly formatted directb2s with all the tables. If you have an old directb2s, it has to be loaded into the BG designer and regenerated.

For Sorceror, the name of the directb2s has to match the table name. In this case it doesn't.

Rename the sorceror directb2s to Sorcerer_UR_VP9_v1.1.0_FS.directb2s (I assume you are using this table) and let us know if that fixed it for you.

Hey LTA,
I did all of the above.
Downloaded new 1.0 server and upgraded cab and also reformatted dll
Downloaded new backglass for all 3 tables
Changed names as needed

All other new backglass's are working with no problems. Only the 3 in question are not working.

Keep getting:

Well, do you want to try the Sorceror on my cab? Here is a link. This works for me.

Thanks very much for the 1.0 release!

I have to report, that the 1.0 has the same strange behaviour as the previous versions:
when i start a dB2S backglass, Aero mode in Windows 7 is disabled. When i quit the table, Aero stays disabled. Aero is enabled only after i quit VP.
When i started a dB2S, quit the table and start it again, VP crashes.
For Hyperpin this isn't a problem, only when you use no frontend.

This is awesome.

I do seem to get my share of crashes (using Koadic's 9.15, rev 442 and also the latest official release) when exiting, but I have only been testing through the editor with no Frontend. I also got plenty of stutter until I made adjustments in the DB2S settings. Windows7 Home Premium, service pack 1, AMD FX 8120 Eight core processor, 3.10 Ghz, 8Gb Ram, 64bit OS, Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 2 GB card.

I can't wait for the DB2S editor so I can start creating some backglasses for my Original tables.

Excellent work.

I have with some (not all) tables the same issue, but only with Win7 64 bit, while it works fine with 32 bit. Works fine from Hyperpin, crashes when called directly.

I think (think means not sure) that it hits only tables which don't stop correctly, I mean the sound of the ROM continue to play for 3-5 seconds after I pressed ESC.

Try to open the script and insert:

sub Table_Exit  '  in some tables this needs to be table1_exit

Controller.Stop

end sub

Then the sound stops immediately and so far I never run into crashes again if I relaunched the table.

Testing that I think that tables without ROM, such as ACDC don't crash while tables with ROM have the sound issue and crash (except I added code to stop the controller).

Just wanted to mention that i have had similar to the above posts (win 64 7, newest koadic build):

-aero disables same as hmueck

- had a rom running even whne table closed. Turned off after i closed out of vp. In windows process, i didn't see anything running, but it must have been in there somewhere.

-vp will crash on EXIT for me ONLY if i manipulate the DMD somewhat first. If i don't touch DMD and exit, all is good.

EDIT: No this isn't true.. It has crashed without touching the dmd NOW....SORRY.

Question: On tables with a B2s already...what do we do?  For example, if we replace the Controller with the B2S.Server ,  and rem out any lines pointing to the other b2s, will that be enough or should we just steer clear of that for now altogether??

Cheers,

Maceman

Has anyone made a directB2S for High Speed 1986 that I could test?  I wasn't on the beta test team so I know this is a somewhat active backglass that the UVP version would bring my system to it's knees.

Todd.

Sadness. I've tried everything an no-go for me :(

Reinstalled, reregistered, same micro-stutter city.

Now how can both UVP and Roger's B2S work flawlewss for me??

Sadeness Dit-Moi.... :)

If someone makes a high speed for Todd, i'd like to try it as well. I'll try anything... twice :)

Edit: Hmmm...just had a thought. Herweh, do you know if .net framework can cause issues? I just read another thread where someone has mentioned there system was smooth until they loaded the .net. Now, it works for me in everything else, but i wonder if there could be something with this i need to look into?? I do not know enough about it to know direction..
