File Name: Kingpin - Hotel Lex + Slotmachine device 3D model.

File Submitter: dark

File Submitted: 20 Jul 2014

File Category: VP Development Resources

Kingpin Hotel Lex + Slot machine device.

Hotel Lex and Slot machine were modelled and mapped using HD photos for realistic and accurate results, however very limited images were
available for the top of the Hotel for the "Hotel Lex" sign and even more limited images for the sides of the building.  The limited images had to be skewed/warped/doctored to make them work.

If someone can provide good, straight, clear HD photos for a top down view of the roof and a good side view(s) of the Hotel please contact
me and I will update this model.  The machine is rare and to get really good side view photos would require the toy being removed from the table.

Special instruction:
The Hotel model is made separate from the slot machine cylinder so that the cylinder can be animated/scripted separately
from the Hotel.  The slotMachine cylinder has it's pivot point axis positioned so that it can be rotated on the X axis for
the slot animation.

Made with the intention of preserving pinball through simulation.

Use freely.

Read 'readme' included in archive.

Author is not responsible for end use.

1.1 update:
All textures have been re-worked/touched up or redrawn with new resources.  The new side view photo made it much easier to tell what was going on with the side of the Hotel's geometry so the model was updated in addition to the texture mapping.
Thanks ICPJuggla for providing resources and thanks to  vampirolatino2 and Talantyyr for helping with redraws/touch ups.

Please note that since the Slot machine cylinder has had no changes you need to grab it from the 1.0 download.

You could save me some time here. I had the basic shape ready to be modeled but got side tracked on other things.

I did this for a VP table authors WIP, sadly last I heard it's been put on the back burner.  The slot machine cylinder was mapped from HD photos and follows the correct order.

Feel free to use,  I'd like to get some better photos for the sides and top if you manage to come across any let me know.

Now I can remember why I stopped working on it for now. Wasn't possible to make the ramp lift up , also has like a trap door in playfield for the lock on left. Wouldn't be too much trouble to convert to VP , just no time.

1.1 update is now available with updated model of Hotel Lex and texture mapping.  There's been no changes to the Slot machine cylinder so you'll still have to grab that from the previous download.  The entire model has had it's texture's re-worked, re-drawn and re-touched, which is most evident in the sides and top of the Hotel.  "On maps" have been added for the lights and red flasher that are in the Hotel (3 stage texture swap, on1-3).  I also included the non texture baked version of the model with the pre-baked texture map in the event people want to make changes down the road or it's to be used in a dynamic lighting environment that would render texture baking obsolete.

This was the main image that cleared up discrepancies with the side:
