Hi pinballers.

I think I just finished the major installation hassle with the VPX 10.8, I used the Baller Installer. Thanks for the makers, looks promising!

I am using Nreal Air glasses that require two Full HD images for the 3D effect: one for the right eye and one for the left eye. Luckily, some clever VPX developers added the side-by-side feature in the VPX. However, with the new VPX 10.8 I am having bad flashing artifacts coming from the Fire button of the AC-DC LUCI Premium VR (Stern 2013) v1.1.3 table, see the annexed photo (oh bummer, I cannot add the photo). Well, to me it looks like the graphics "tries the 3D too hard", maybe making too strong stereoscopic effects, "light" is leaking too far in a dimension or something. For example, the red glow that should be positioned inside the button is far off to the right. I had smaller similar issues with the earlier VPX (the "Fire" text was distorted etc. because some sub elements did not align), but not as bad/extensive as this one. How could I fix this and other similar artifacts? So far it seems that the playfield is okay, these external elements are problematic.

The Ambient occlusion was too hard for my setup, why I turned it off to get the ACDC table running as proposed. I also set a limit to the Max. texture dimension. Cheers.

HI

It looks great but, I don´t know if VPX 10.8  or other older release is ready for AR glasses.

If you look in video settings, the stereo 3D effect works fine for passive glasses with 3D TV in all options.

I play with 3D TV VPX 10.8 GL in flipped interlaced mode and looks great, although you loose resolution but real 3D effect is worth and in my opinion only VR is better.

If nreal glasses works, try to use VPX 10.8 GL version. DX version is fake stereo and I think is better works with reshade.

Cheers

Thanks Emanoel299. The Nreal Air glasses are quite "stupid" how I use them currently, they just take half of the screen for the one eye and the other half for the other eye. That's why my resolution in the game and desktop computer is actually 3840*1080, so two full HD versions of the table from different angles next to each other. I am not sure how the 3D effect works in TVs, but maybe the techniques are comparable? I am hopeful that I could borrow some settings there.

If there is no universal solution to fix the artifacts, could the Fire button be too close to the viewer in the virtual space causing the separation of the light? If so, could it be an viable option to somehow put the button farther away and make it bigger. But where actually the distance of the objects outside the playfield are adjusted? But I would still prefer some universal adjustment to avoid tweaking each table separately.

Thanks.

Hi

I´m talking about VPX 10.8 - release 2051

As far as I can see, VPX for 3D works in 2 separeted enviroments.

One is VR glasses where only VPX GL works with their specific settings area and the VR glasses as Quest2 or Quest 3 and so on make the real 3D enviroment. No need to set VPX GL with 3D stereo output

Another is made by VPX GL (true stereo) or DX (fake stereo)  3D output in video settings configuration, where you will need a old 3D TV  full HD 1980x1080 with full colors, as passive 3D send one line for left eye and other line for right eye in polarized passive glasses will see scalines.

Nowadays, there is no more 3D TV, only 2D TV where you can play in anaglyph mode and deppending on your anaglyph glasses, one color missed, although will can play with 4K TV with full resolution.

I don´t know how Nreal Air glasses will make a 3D enviroment because is a different technology and I think that VPX is not ready for that.
