So im about to install Re shader  on my cabinet for 3d effect but from what ive seen online once you do and you load up a vpx game it goes straight to 3d rendering....

I want to be able to choose whether i play in normal mode or 3d mode.., Ideally a vpx3d wheel in popper would be awesome so you would have your wheels for emulators and vpx3d would be one of them..., I would assume that the only way im going to get this to work is to have two running vpx programs on my pc  with reshader installed to one of the vpx programs,   and the other vpx program normal....

Does anyone know if this will work... ?? would it be as simple as leaving the normal version on C:\  and installing another version of VPX with reshader on another drive???

Really hope someone out there has a answer or has done this..

Ive already bought the Trioviz glasses so its just the programming side to get done for awesome 3d tables with a Oled screen  ... just cant wait to get this done...

but then there will be days where playing in normal 2d is fine...., like my cinema projector 3d is awesome on it ...., but 75% of the time im watching in 2d....

Thats why i want to be able to choose between playing in 2d and 3d.....

Hi Rickjames

Welcome to Real Pinball Feeling.

I only Can play in 3D but with passive 3D TV. You loose resolution but it is another world.

Unfortunately there is no more 3D TV to sell. You can try to find somebody that want to sell because there is no more aplications for it.

Anaglyph mode is a option nowadays. You keep the resolution but in my opinion there is no way to play missing colors. It is not real for me.

To get a better real view, the TV must be in same cabinet inclination. I tell this because for 2D users, the TV (playfield) is normaly down on back wall.

OK

Let´s go.

There are two ways to play with 3D. Real or Fake stereo.

VPX DX is fake stereo. Native 3D built in is not good so is better to use with Reshade. I played this way in the past with VPX 10.74

In my case nowadays with VPX 10.8, I play with VPX GL with native 3D built in. Don´t use Reshade.

It´s close to VR and a Real machine.

You will need to adjust .INI file for all tables for your better view pressing F12. Change from "Legacy" to "window" mode to adjust. Press "1" to save

You can try even in anaglyph mode. It works. But it would be better in na real passive 3D TV.

You will change only the 3D stereo output in video settings to your kind of trioviz glasses. I think is RED and CYAN.

The pinup pooper or any frontend will work nornally.

You can press F10 to change from 3D to 2D and vice-versa but there is a bug. sometimes not work better the transition.

It is better disable 3D stereo in video settings to play in 2D and enablr again to in 3D

Thanks for the reply... a couple of things ....

i have a brand new 48" oled 4k tv  the playfield so going back to a old 3dtv is just not a option for me....

i also dont want to use a keyboard once i finish making and setting up the cabinet ... once its finished and i turn it on .., it goes straight to popper , no signing into windows and  no keyboard or mouse to use unless im doing maintenance or installing new games

i didnt know about the  You can press F10 to change from 3D to 2D and vice-versa...  i will have to see if thats a option.... thanks for the reply....

Edit :

So ive been told reshade is no longer what i should be using and VPX GL is what i need for 3D..., so can you have both VPX and VPX GL running on popper as different emulators???

The native anaglyph in VPX GL does produce better results, but it does use more resources to render the 3D than ReShade  (i still use ReShade with the DX version for that reason)

With either method you can toggle the effect on/off with a hotkey, but if you don't want an extra button or to use a keyboard then you could probably just switch between launching the DX or GL version of VPX (installed in the same location) from the front end.

Also note - you may need alternative glasses if you want to use the VPX GL native anaglyph method to get the best results (see https://github.com/v...ball/issues/846)

So Rickjames

As told you, VPX 10.8 DX Anaglyph 3D is better to use with Reshade DX. It´s much better than native VPX 10.8 DX 3D.

VPX 10.8 GL Anaglyph 3D, in my opinion, is better than Reshade GL (no good) about renderization.

To use both options 2D or 3D, in Pinup Popper, you can do two ways as follow:

1 - You can create two VPX 10.8 DX folders. One for 2D and other for 3D.

I did a similar option in Pinup Popper frontend for VPX 32 bits tables and 64 bits tables once.

2 - In Reshade config keyboards you can active or deactive Reshade Rederization with toglle key "insert".

You told about experience about you 3D project. Take in mind that any blue ray 3D method is much better than VPX method.

Anyway I hope you enjoy the 3D tables for VPX.

I can´t play anymore in 2D. But I´m in passive 3D and not Anaglyph.

If you want I can share with you my .INI files.

Thanks for the reply... im going to stick with the 4k LG Oled  its a beautiful playfield at  48"

believe me if i could get it with 3D i would do it straight away over Anaglyph 3D .... but i think il install VPX GL and have bth run off popper....

Again thanks for the reply

Thanks for the reply ... i have a 3080ti as the graphics card and a 12gen i7 cpu so im hoping it should do 3D no problems.., if it has issues i might with the way you went with reshade and DX

Im going to install the GL version aswell for my 3d games ... im just not sure if i should install it next to the DX i guess it should be ok ..., and il make the GL as a new emulator in popper...

Someonr else has said i need to get red \ cyan glasses now instead the trioviz glasses... so il just have to get some new glasses....

Thanks again for the reply..

Trioviz is the brand of the glasses. The anaglyph mode can be red and cyan, amber and blue, and green and magenta.

They say red and cyan is the best, but I've seen videos where amber and blue have good visibility.
Regarding reshade, be careful with updates.

Have a backup of your working version because, in a current version, the Blue Sky Defender Depth 3D shaders don't have anaglyph settings, from what I could see.

Hi RickJames

You don´t need to buy another glasses.

Unless yoy want to try RED / CYAN

On VPX GL stereo there is a option for GREEN / MAGENTA
