Wow this does look impressive.

Starman, what method did you use to do lighting on this?  If you have any tips I'd like to hear them.  I have ways of doing lighting that I think are just OK, but I still haven't settled into any method that I've wanted to stick with, still experimenting.  But this looks really good, whatever you are doing.

Fantastic looking table!

Just the right amount of lighting not too dark and not too bright!

Looks like another fun pin!

I love the pf colors too...very unusual for a pin!

Rob,

thanks  - glad you like it.

My favorite graphic programm is "Picture Publisher 10" - but I think also Gimp or another good graphic program has lighten / darken features.

Attached File  lighting_example.jpg   137.63KB   42 downloads

Required features:

1) creating Mask

2) creating Object from Mask

3) copy Object or / and

4) Mask from Object -> Object fom Mask (that way the copied Object is at the same location)

5) feather / Mask or Object

6) adjustable transparency (if you have 2 Objects one above the other with little difference in size, set one object transparency to ~50%  provides a soft shape Object)

5) lighten / darken functions (shadows, midtones, highlights)

6) also important should be to have a "lens flare" feature (to simulate light reflections)

I got best results with lighting brushes using "midtones" feature (provides a better contrast effect).

Much success & Servus

Walter

I noticed that some get an error in line 20.

Please download the newest script files (included the "b2s.vbs").

Although this is not a B2S table, it is nevertheless necessary to have the "b2s.vbs" either in the table folder or / and in the script folder. In the script "B2S" is just set to "false".

Thanks and servus

Walter

Thanks for the info.  I use photoshop, & try some of this.  I never thought to use lens flare in lighting, but yeah I guess it does make sense that it would be good for bulb reflections.

Great table Walter but did you know this table actually only has 1 sling and not 2? The left sling is correct, but there actually isnt a sling under the right "sling plastic".

Also question about Caper scoring. When you collect the Y in Searay does it score the current Caper value displayed on the Reel b4 you score Y, or is it the value shown on the reel that changed from the Y. If that makes sense.

Thanks for getting me to play some VP again.

edit: did you put only 1 sling? the right "sling" seems to fire pretty hard for there not being one... and yea i must be tripping or something but i seem to only score 100 points per caper no matter if its Square Triangle or X.

Sabbat, the table was created in cooperation of an owner.

Do you really think, I wasn't instructed with the 1 Sling thing? There are some Videos online, you can study them like I did for sure couple of times.

The Searay Caper scores right:

As soon as you score the last Searay letter "Y", the letters goes off and the Super Bonus Caper advance by 1. Where is the problem?

As I can see the "Zapper Caper" score matches correctly with the symbols.

At this point I wanted to write something different, regarding criticism. but I've changed my mind.

Wait, i pissed you off? You should be glad that people like me play your tables more then once.

No I didnt think you knew. Seeing as how the right sling on your recreation does not act like simple rubber and IMO slings the ball harder then it should. I went back and played it and it does fire softer then the left but i guess i thought you put a sling there cuz it doesnt act like just rubber...it acts like a sling :)

ugh, what a way to wake up......

No, c'mon sabbat you don't. But the tone wasn't the right. I've no problems with constructive critism.

I'm glad you like the old EM's and I appreciate your contribution.

You must realize, however, that I give a lot of effort to be authentic.
I know that the passive sling might be a bit too soft, but after several
test matches, I have decided to make the setup so that the game isn't too easy.

So let's be friends and enjoy all those great moments which are a little out of the daily grind tear.

This is a great table. I would have a hard time believing it could be improved in any way, but obviously, I am not an expert on it. In fact, I liked this table so much, I went and d/l'ed all the rest of starman's works. All very nice I must say.
