Hi,

I have a dual screen setup on a gaming laptop: laptop screen for dmd and external monitor for playfield.

I have a very strange problem on vpx 10.8.0.

in the "backglass" options, camera tab I set

  • enable gss mode UNchecked
  • view Desktop (dt)
  • mode legacy

Then I set the rotation option to 90 or 270 in order to play in portrait mode.

When I change the value I see the gray preview that flips direction but when I start the table or the camera mode (F6) no matter if I enter 90 or 270 in rotation, the table does not change direction, even if in the preview it does.
I tested different tables, they all behave the same.

How can I fix this?

My goal is to have the playfield rendered in portrait mode on the secondary screen (full screen) with the rotation I need.

Thanks in advance to whoever can help

There is a "Run Mode Override" section at top of Camera section.

Maybe that will help?

With the External monitor rotated upright into Portrait-mode, correct? That's how I would do it.

I think I would also use a wired-USB keyboard (so you can lay it below external monitor).

So, In VPX-Prefs/Video ... that is where you define the Playfield monitor.

In ScreenRes.txt is where you define the Backglass monitor.

I would suggest you get the Windows Desktop configured properly before launching VPX.

Your Displays should be looking proper in Settings (and Scaling of both monitors set to 100%).

Use this to save this config as a Preset.

At least, that is how I do it on my development desktop. I don't use Display Profile Manger on my cabinet as I leave it in Portrait mode.

Then start VPX. Yes, Camera is where you rotate it (IIRC ... ViewPort Transform).

Player View Settings: 3, 20, 40

Table Scale: 1, 1, 1

Player Position: maybe something like 0,75,-1000

View: Fullscreen (FS)

Mode: Legacy

There is no hard things about it.

Below I opened a new table. By default, is in "legacy" mode

Take a look about Tesla sad about monitor are 100% scale.

See my suggestions on pictures below.

I did nothing else.

Run a table

Press F12 and then right or left shift untill "point of view" page

Then, CRTL to "view layuot mode". then LEFT/RIGHT shift until "legacy"

Press "1" to save the configuration

I think your situation should be like that
