Happy New Year to all!

I thought I had this table working fine, but I just noticed this issue.

I have Cheech and Chong Road Trippin by Watacaractr and the Low Rider song volume while playing is very low. I thought I could adjust the altsound csv files, but this doesn't help. Is anyone else experiencing this and may I ask how you adjusted it?

che_cho altsound is in same named folder in the altsound folder in VPinMame directory

F1 and 1 is set in altsound options

I have Red and Ted's Road Show altsound  and that works fine. Just this table has the volume issue

I'm running VpinMame 3.6  still on VPX 10.7.4. (Yes I will update soon.) :)

Tried reinstalling the rm and altsound files

Tried PinVol and didn't change volume

Tried changing rm volume, but that changes the introduction door knocking scene for me

When I play the files directly, they are good volume, only when played through VPX or Popper, it is low.

I played directly through VPX and also through Popper with low volume on music while playing

I don't have SSF, just speakers through my AtGames BuyStuff baxkglass

I'm stuck. Any help would be so appreciated.

Thank you

Thank you

I found that it was the .OGG format causing the issue.  I have converted the AltSound to .WAV and it seems to be working.
Here is a link to download the conversion (G-Drive)

Cheers!

Thanks for the effort but using the .wav files didn't help in my case. The introductory 'Who is it? It's Dave...' sound is loud and clear but as soon as I start a game, all altsound stuff is almost inaudible.

It's weird because I remember this was working fine a while ago, so I don't know what caused the change.

Try clicking Preferences, Audio Options, and try a different setting in the Multi Channel Output section. (Be sure to select specific table overides, instead of Global settings.)

I'm having same issue!  Just got it working though, try this!.

  1. go to VPinMAME / altsound /  che_cho folder
  2. open altsound.ini with favorite text editor.
  3. search for rom_volume_ctrl = 1
  4. change it to rom_volume_ctrl = 0
  5. save, exit. profit, Holmes!

FYI there's a little blurb in that altsound.ini file that talks about undesirable muting.

; rom_volume_ctrl   : the AltSound processor attempts to recreate original
;                     playback behavior using commands sent from the ROM.
;                     This does not work in all cases, resulting in undesirable
;                     muting of the playback volume. Setting this variable
;                     to 0 turns this feature off.
;                     NOTE: This option works for all AltSound formats
