I'd like some feedback here... some tables the script features an easy way to adjust both the ball roll and ramp roll sound volume. These are excellent. With my particular rig, when the ball roll volume is up, it sounds remarkably fake and distracting, so I usually end up setting the roll sounds down in the script to around .4 or .3. HOWEVER...

Some tables don't have a specific adjustment in the script, nor in the F12 options table menus.... so the natural approach is to go to the FX sounds in Sound Manager, and just turn down the ball roll volume there for the individual effects. I'll often need to do this also specifically for the "FX_Rubber" sounds that come through like a bowling ball hit something in the table...

But this is where the strange behavior comes in.

On many tables when I do this, any adjustment at all to the ball roll volume... even taking it down less than 10%, will result in NO ball roll sound. it's like the math gets screwed up in the script, and it just breaks it and the the ball ends up silently gliding around the table and making other sounds as it hits things.

In these cases, if the ball rolls particularly fast, you'll sometimes hear a bit of a roll sound for maybe 1/2 to 1/4 second. Something is bugged and it's all or nothing when it comes to the ball noise. Not all tables are like this, but many are.

Any ideas? Manually adjusting the volume dial isn't practical, particularly as different tables have different volume needs. I'm at a bit of a loss. Is there a fix? What do you guys do in these odd situations? Just live with the TieFigher sound?

Most tables' ball rolling and hit sounds use the VOL function, and by increasing the divider, you can lower their volume together without truncating the sounds.

Function Vol(ball) ' Calculates the Volume of the sound based on the ball speed
    Vol = Csng(BallVel(ball) ^2 / 2000)
End Function

Change the 2000 to 5000 or 8000 or whatever suits your needs.  Script volume controls usually tap into this number for the adjustment.
