File Name: Space Train (MAC 1987) FS VP9.9

File Submitter: mfuegemann

File Submitted: 09 Feb 2016

File Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): mfuegemann
Manufacturer: Other - Pinball
Year: 1987
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

This is Space Train by MAC.

Space Train has a 2 Ball and a 3 Ball Multiball and two funny kicking holes that kick the ball up to a second level playfield. Akiles sent me images and plastics scans of this rare Spanish pin.
Zany did the flipper models and Arngrim reviewed the code for the DOF calls.
The table is behaving strange when an Extra Ball is collected. The additional ball is immediately kicked into the plunger lane, resting there to be launched - or not.
For this I added a manual fix to buffer the released balls until the balls in play either drain or are locked in one of the saucers. So the ball is entering the plunger lane when You have to launch it. This feature can be switched on/off within the script.

The table rules are included in the download file.

Please place the mac.vbs script file into Your Scripts folder. The new version now has a working Coin3 chute - I trigger Coin1 for cab users having set up their cabs using Coin3 only.
Have fun and please use the support topic to post any findings and suggestions.

Michael

I like this table, Michael. Thank you. Is there a way to get the dmd to display in my Pindmd2? I messed around with the script around line 100 and could not accomplish it. If it is not possible, how can I rotate the dmd that is displaying  to read horizontally?

Hi BobAlbright,

I would suggest that You set the X and Y coordinates both to 0 and drag the DMD around. I am not sure, if this is working with PinDMD, though.

To rotate the display use the parameter

Controller.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("rol")=1

Thanks Michael. Pindmd would not accept it but I did drag it to the back glass. Didn't know I could do that! Learn something every day. Is there a way to add another digit to the high score?

Unfortunately the ROM is as it is. There is a "x10" backbox light next to the scores to indicate a rollover - the B2S has it implemented.

Never heard of MAC before, thanks for this great new addition to our cabs! The silly music is addictive :)

Hi Michael,

now with VPM 2.6.

table loads, I can insert coin and hear it falling. Displays are on, all show zero(s). No credits are counted up and I cannot start the game. Same behaviour on two installations.

I had the same issue with Cue Ball Wizard, there was the *.nv file missing.

Can you help?

Thanks, Christian.

Hi Christian,

did You place the mac.vbs file into Your Scripts folder? If so, please delete the file "spctrain.nv" from the nvram folder and try again.

Michael

I actually have the same issue. Deleted nvram, same issue. It coins on 4, not 5. I think most cab coin buttons are mapped to 5

Hi Michael,

I checked again on both systems,

both have the mac.vbs correctly in dir of tables, spctrain.nv has been removed from VPinMame/nvram dir

- one shows no effect symtoms are still the same

- other machine: table does not enter attract mode, cannot play game.

:bye2:

Please continue with your investigations...

Thank you, Christian.

It's in the mac.vbs, it was the same issue with the older Gottliebs. The vbs needs changed to coin up with key 5 instead of 4. It won't coin on my cab 'coin' button, but if I pull out the keyboard and hit 4 it works fine.

Hi,

I will definitely look into this. Until then, just keep the "FreePlay" option active. Then with every hit of the GameStart Button a coin is inserted too.

Hi,

I just added a corrected "mac.vbs" to the download. On Coin3 hits, I trigger now the Coin1 switch too have a coin added there too. If You want to fix the script file directly, You can add line 24 like this:

Const swCoin3        = 2 'avoid missing Coin Switch mappings

Thank You for finding the issue and for Your patience!

Regards

Michael

Please help...In The Fullscreen Space Train (Mac 1987) I get line 97 - Game name not found.

Line 27 is [Const cgamename = "spctrain"] and line 97 is [Controller.GameName=cgamename] .

It looks right,but?

I have the controller.vbs, mac.vbs, and the rom "spctrain" in the right folders.

When I run the rom test in pinmame setup, the table name is not in the list
