File Name: Cirqus Voltaire (Bally 1997)

File Submitter: bassgeige

File Submitted: 15 Nov 2015

File Category: dB2S Animated Backglasses

Author(s): bassgeige
hauntfreaks (backglass pictures)
rothbauerw (script help)
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1997

Thank you very much Hauntfreaks for your backglass pictures and rothbauerw for your script help!
Split into two files it does work with every DMD version from Dozers's CV DMD table or mod version and also Knorr's version only. The bell does now work with Knorr's 1.1 table too. For Knorr's table you seem to be able to include the script also at the end of the script. It could be that the table script requires a later update to see for example the endflash sequence like in Dozer's table.

It does also include a DMD screen and a fantasy option to lit it.

Knorr 1.1 and video demos:

________________________________________________________________________________________
Annotation: to less RAM warning appears for the old none DMD versions 2.0 and 2.3?
Main solution:

(Alternative solution in rare cases:
Load the table and hit immediately the "ESC" button on your keyboard, wait until the dB2S is visible and just resume the game by using "resume game" on your screen.)

Light is an impression that can be created with different effects. You have sometimes multiple layers. The effects I tried are under the given circumstances from the very high resolution picture over the dB2S designer capabilities the actual maximum. I hit like over twenty-five times limits in the design and play test which leaded in this version. It does represent for me therefore the best possible outcome. I am very happy this version runs. There is always the possibility for further versions. My intention was not to have the same look, like previous very good versions from other very talented dB2S users. :)

I intended to have a more night and day mix that is actually visible. A native look and feel does only the real pinball machine deliver.

My gpus are to weak to make a video. Try to run native 1:1 speed. I have a clean experience and can only see a realistic picture.

I can only try to use basic dB2S lightning instead. The result will look different.

Which gpus and cpus and how much RAM do you use?

bassgeige, something is not right with the file you uploaded. You should download it and try for yourself. Your download screenshot looks beautiful but the actual backglass animation is messed up, for example the entire image takes on a red hue then parts of the image just disappear.

I used the latest own play file for the upload. I will download it again and test it. You could help me to post or private message me your hardware specs.

To everyone using this backglass. The native backglass resolution your PC needs to handle is above 4k resolution. I never had this high quality in usage for a backglass before. You will need only reasoned by this matter a good PC. I already meant before that I will try to submit a more conventional done release. I can not say if the dB2S designer will be able to create the file without errors. Please give me some time. I did the best to have a quality version 1.0 release. More was for this release not possible.

I'm using this B2S on a 1920x1080 TV and a GTX760 vcard and is working just fine.... so no need for anything special....

Thanks bassgeige for uploading the "normal" version, no problems with this one on my system. Wow, that is one spectacular looking backglass. Thank you for the update and hauntfreaks for providing the awesome image!

Bug found (shadow picture on backglass). Probably a save error. Version 1.3 will be uploaded now.

Be warned, today evening I was able to solve a long time problem which hold me off from doing much better backglasses for a long time. I always had a to less RAM warning after the save and or after the start of a saved file. My assumption was that the B2SBackglassServerEXE was not able to run with the RAM only a 64 Bit operating system can offer. I was able to run a file which I submitted today successfully. Because this is something which is maybe better in the hands for the experienced PC user I can only recommend that you know what you do. I am speechless and I did not see one single problem so far!

This could be a very big step for dB2S. :)

Well, I can run the experimental 1.4 without modifying any settings. That's good. Now, aesthetically I still prefer the authentic version, but it's good to push the limits.
