File Name: BK2K VP92x FS

File Submitter: melon

File Submitted: 29 Jan 2014

File Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): melon
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1989
Permission to MOD?: No

Recreation of Williams Black Knight 2000.
After 2 years away from VP, I'm back with this table.
Requires VP9.2 or higher. All the lighting is done with alpha ramps.
Thanks to Francisco666 for the textures from his FP version. Thanks to Lio and LH for their previous versions, as I've used them as a reference. Thanks to JP for the lighting system, elements, sounds, textures, routines... without you this wouldn't be the same.
This is just a conversion from the 4:3 table released now that my pincab is working again. Now it's time to lean about B2S...
Enjoy.

Awesome, thanks.  So glad you have returned to the scene.  DirectB2s is such a game changer along with DOF.  (I hope you have a led wiz with all the goodies).   I played the beta and I know that this table will kick  a**.  Thanks

Just Teamviewered into my cabinet just to load this table up and see how nice it looks.  Looks great! actually funny playing through teamviewer, not exactly playable but fun for 10 seconds.

thanks for this gem !

visuals are stunning!!!!!!

but i have some troubles tweaking the upper flipper :(

i have problems to open the draw bridge or do a loop turn on the upper playfield

i ended up with copying lord hiryus upper flipper setting to the table .. that worked pretty well , plays better but is not optimal

(i played around with the settings but was not able to find a perfect setting)

another thing that makes playing the upper playfield difficult is the fact that the ball seems to perform an emergeny brake at at the W I N lights  :P.. normally when i fire the ball up the ramp to the upper playfield at high speed the ball goes all the way around to the third filpper finger and i can do loops or fire at the drawbridge...

any ideas why the ball gets cought at the win lights so much ?

Great work melon.... Thank you...

The ball was getting stuck at the apron, moving wall507 back 10 clicks fixed the problem for me.. :-)

Wow, great work Melon!

I never played this table for real and I always found the VP version confusing. Now I find it was confusing because I really could not see the levels correctly. Now the table has a very 3D look to it and I finally understand how the playfield is laid out. I'm loving it!

Great job on this!

*I would have to agree with gogo69 on the ball coming to a stop more often than not near "W" light. It definitely messes up the flow when shooting for loops or the drawbridge.

Quit talking and start chalking!

Ball hitting something when it makes the loop

And a few details I've noticed

Thanks Guys!

Really fun table, i'd not seen this one ever before. Just one suggestion, it's a bit easy ? My first game, without extra balls, I got 12 million without knowing what I was doing (free game kicks in at 5.5 mill) just learning as I went along. That is doable as the ball comes down the chute from the upper playfield and gives you an easy trap on the right lower flipper. You then have an easy shot back up to the upper PF, meaning you can get 5x before you know it, hurry up bonuses, Multiballs, etc etc as you can just repeat that ad infinitum without ever losing the ball, or even using your left flipper at all.

Maybe - can the chute from the upper PF be made steeper, so the ball is dropped to the lower PF at a more rapid pace, so a trap on the right flipper isn't so easy ?

I'm glad you came back as it is a great table :)

What a GEM this is, played the older version A LOT, but this one is stunning, BK2K was always in my top 5 but with

your new version i'll bump it into the top 3.

Thanks Melon !

( and yeah, the drawbridge got harder, the whole upper playfield is not that easy nomore, but hey, i LOVE the challenge)

Maybe this problem is confined to me.  The ball always veers to the right no matter where it is on the table.  The best example is when I cradle the ball in the left flipper.  It will slowly roll up the flipper toward the drain.  I'm running version 9.2 and haven't encountered this with any other tables.   Has anyone had this problem with BK2K or other tables?  If so, please do tell.
