File Name: Elvis Night Mod (VP916_FS)

File Submitter: Aaron James

File Submitted: 14 Oct 2013

File Category: VP 9.x MOD Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): JP Salas, Aaron James, Teppotee
Manufacturer: Stern
Year: 2013
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Thanks to the one and only JP Salas for allowing us to mod his wonderful recreation of this table.
I would recommend changing the script to this if you know how to adjust the sound/music correctly on this table. If not, just leave at 0.
    '************
 ' Table init.
 '************

 Sub Table1_Init
    vpmInit Me
    With Controller
       .GameName = cGameName
       .Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("sound") = 1

Aaron James :
- Images/plastics/physics/plunger/flippers/rubbers/etc changed
- alpha ramp flashers reworked.
- lighting changed in editor.
- apron changed
- other minor changes for play-ability.

Teppotee :
- New flasher domes from JP's recent tables (these are actually correctly shaped walls so these look good from all angles)
- Added halo's to the ELVIS led lights.
- A bit better slingshot GI
- GI for the plastics as well. So now those are on/off as well.
- BMPR physics option. Default is set to "off". Thanks to JimmyFingers for developing this code.
- Teppotee also added 2 choices for the alpha GI. White and Orange.  Default is orange.

'******************************
' SET alpha GI colors
'******************************
GION_alphaGIcolor = 2 ' 0=OFF, 1=WHITE, 2=Orange

'******************************
' SET BMPR on or off
'******************************
Const useBMPR = 0

You hardly ever hear anyone talking about the Elvis table. I think it's very underrated. Again Aaron, you are da man. Love it. Thanks!

I think the hours we put on this are about even Aaron :)

For the dancing Elvis here's a quote from JP's original release (it needs rom sounds activated which are disabled by default in this release):

Here are the 3 ways to use the sound in this table:

1.- Using only the ROM (the default)
2.- Using only the samples
3.- Using the samples and the ROM sound, but the volume of the ROM is 0.

How to:

1.- Using the ROM
The table is adjusted to use the rom sound, but you need a fast computer.

2.- Using the samples
If your computer is old you will hear distorted rom sounds and you'll need to do turn off the rom sound:

Go to line 62
.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("sound") = 1
and change 1 to 0:
.Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("sound") = 0

Go to line 50
' Set MotorCallback = GetRef("TrackSounds")
and remove the ':
Set MotorCallback = GetRef("TrackSounds")

Save the table
Now the table will use the rom samples. The only problem is that Elvis will not dance, since it seems it is activated by the rom when playing some sounds, and rememebr you just turned off the rom sounds

How about something like this for Haunted house?(don't want to hijack the thread but HH was such a good suggestion that I gave it a quick shot already :)) Needs more work of course and permission from JP but this might turn out quite nicely too...
