Is there a way to load the table w/o loading the editor? I guess this could save some ressources. We need every little boost we could get for VR.

@toxie

Take my new Hot Tip table, delete the invisible collideable walls at the in and outlane rollover targets. Throw some balls into the lanes and they should fall through every now and then.

I would like to have a option where I can load the table without textures. Just some minimal shading in white or something like that. Would make my life easier with the laptop. At the moment I simply delete all and reimport them back :/

Is it due to the memory these are using on CPU and GPU? Or just in general the overhead of loading/pre-processing these?

When i make the cutouts for the wire rollover targets i always have to place an invisible collideable wall at Z-0,1 to stop the ball from falling through the PF. The cutouts width is only about 20% of the ball diameter. It shouldn't fall through!

Is it possible that the collision detection in Z is only done with a point on the intersection of the outer skin (ball) and the balls Z axis?

Actually not, but the collision handling code is still not the most robust one, also due to many heuristics that were added over the years. My attempts at cleaning all of that up are still hidden behind a define, as it's also not perfect.  :/

Do you have a simple repro table for this, please?

Are there currently in "working assumptions" that are being considered for the next rev?

OGG and MP3 internal support, but still a bit rough on the edges   :/

a bit of both. While scripting i just take a look if the code does work and go on... Its also helpful to find problems with pinmame calls... I commute 2 hours every day to work with the train. So i´d like to work with a small laptop. Currently i have a i3 with a hd4000. Works fine and fast without textures... I think wcs has only 12mb in that case.

ah for all of us who don't use LSD while playing pinball? :D

Seriously: a clear NO from my side.

Lol. Made me laugh, because I have, let's say more experience than most playing pinball on shrooms and you don't need the extras. F-14 is the nuts with that light show.

It would be helpful to have a function to apply a collision sound to the gate, when it is hit in the non-opening side,
and something that helps to have the sound of rolling ball on the ramps.

Thanks

One suggestion I have is to offer more flexibility in terms of window sizes and aspect ratios in windowed mode.

strange finding: seems, the outcome of camera/light mode info is dependent on settings:

For me this hase happened in Swinger.

Yeah, that happens when you enable brute force.

The image is then literally rendered at 2x x 2x the size and downsampled. Thus the smaller font.

I just encountered a focus problem, that I had before in the material manager (now solved).

If I want to delete a marked part of an option value (i.e. Plunger.PullSpeed or Wall.Friction) with the "Del" key, the main object in the editor will be deleted.

Yes that's a known issue. It's because the del key is a special key that must be handled differently. I don't know how to solve this yet. Maybe I find a solution in the 10.7.

It's my fault again :D , I disabled the Bloom Filter in the video options  , VPX05 works because this option didn't exist yet.

Hey guys, having some strange issues and I'm not sure if it's just on my end. First is I get this strange static or strobe effect randomly..

https://www.youtube....h?v=YOjyCZWyTXo

And second (more importantly) I get the no "rom path error" that on some table comes up only if I try to go into cabinet mode and other tables all the time. My tables included...

https://www.youtube....h?v=SmnTfMYwj6M

Again this could be just on my end but I have no idea...

Yeah, I get that strange static, is that Bords Pinbot table in your video? Its really noticeable for me on that table also and other dark tables. This problem started for me probably July/Aug 2019, I have seen other mentions of it on forums (possibly in this 10.6 beta topic)I believe it was identified as starting after one of the 10.6 betas, but forget which now.

Isnt your second problem related to needing the directdraw attribute set for the rom when using the full screen option in vpx?

Question : if you save the table with the option set, then exit vp completely. Will it still crash ? I have had a few tables where if I only change the tiniest thing. It will crash. But saving the change, then restart resolves it. Must admit, most of these cases has been Sterns - not Williams.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Thanks Ashleyb!! Don't know if it always was but I un-checked Force Exclusive Fullscreen mode and that did the trick. Thanks for directing me to that.

Now onto the static issue...

Do you run in 10bit mode?

Any news about VP 10.7 ?

We're working on it. Currently slowed down immensely by real life though.
