[EDIT: Solved - for me, at least. I went back to VPinMAME final v3.6, and the problem disappeared]

I haven't updated my cab for a while. About a month ago, I went back and upgraded everything:

VPX v10.8.0 final 64-bit

VPinMAME beta 3.7.0.47 (as suggested for the VPW "Scared Stiff" table)

B2S Server 2.13

FlexDMD 1.91

Freezy DMD Extension 2.3.1

lucky1 pin2color for DMDext 2.3.1

Hardware:

Intel i7 12700F

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, Driver version 32.0.15.7688 (up to date as of last week)

Now I'm getting these insanely bright flashing lights on some (mostly VPW) tables. Case in point, the latest "Ripley's Believe It Or Not":

https://youtu.be/RbLeyuUe84A

Their AC/DC table used to be the same before they released a recent update.

So... is it something they need to fix? I haven't seen anyone else report this, so I guess the error must be on my end...

Help is much appreciated.

just a thought, it might be wise and just uninstall everything and reinstall using the baller installer, since this was released i have never had any errors

Strange, I just tried JP Salas' version of Ripley's and the flashers on his table are much more bright on my system than on the one from VPW.

Hi guys, If I were in your shoes I would try installing VPinMAME 3.6 stable version, make sure you update and register both 32 and 64 bit versions.

Scared Stiff works fine with that version and also Ripley, at least for me, no issues.

I agree, the flashers in my table are really bright, and maybe they are a little bit too strong, but flashers should be bright :)

Remember to use the VPX 10.8 final, no betas. If the Baller installer do not have the release version of VPX8, then download it from this site, and simply unpack and replace all the files on your instalation.

Thanks, I'll try that. Scared Stiff was the only reason I updated to the 3.7 beta in the first place, so it's good to hear it works anyway :-)

EDIT: Yep, that did the trick. Thank you very much for the suggestion. I originally resisted going back to 3.6 because I was afraid I'd miss out on the newer VPW tables, but turns out they work with 3.6 as well - so far, anyway  ^_^

If say I wanted to reduce the flashers on a table ONLY, would that be the VPX adjustment for bloom, lights, or something else (like a specific element)? I Struggle on some tables getting flashers on certain table to just calm down a bit but not wanting to reduce the brightness/lighting of the playfield itself.

Go to youtube, look up video called "How to Adjust Lighting in VPX" - should help...

Seems i have rev 2060, installing 2051 final official.

The 2060 says its a final release in properties, yet the official only download is 2051.

Crazy the amount of adjustments there are! It's nice when you can just reduce the bloom and then boom, but then there are lights in all sorts of areas to adjust. There's a VPW table called F-14 Tomcat that they kindly put the adjustment into the F12 screen for Flasher Intensity, if only it was that easy to find and adjust in other tables.
