And we know who to thank for that don't we ? Without you devs ( including lucky1, mjr, djrobx etc) it just wouldn't be worth re-creating these in VPX. Thank you so much guys for all the pleassure you've given us up through the years. I'm looking forward to 2020.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

I think the community as a whole is awesome!  :)

So much work goes into recreating machines and everything related, from all kinds of people!

around here where I live people know very little oh nothing about virtual pinball and when I tell them about the community I always tell them .. "It is an incredible community and it is constantly growing because there are people who improve and add things to the emulator, people that incorporates hardware so that the experience is better every time and then there are the people who recreate oh make the tables but it is not one if it does not help with physics, with the 3D models in the incorporation of the DOF."

What I try to make clear is that we all contribute in some way and that is not seen almost anywhere. That's why I love this beautiful hobby so much ..

Thank you, thank you very much to the whole community for everything they give me ..  :love39:

"Learning without thought is vain, thought without learning is dangerous." (Confucius)

"Aprender sin pensar es inútil, pensar sin aprender es peligroso". (Confucio)

Please, if you can help me with a small contribution to update my work team and continue to make more tables I will be eternally grateful.

On a more serious note, I think serious consideration should be given in VP11 to providing media tools. The only tool that is included with VP for original table authors with regards to media is UltraDMD, which is buggy, laggy, and abandoned since 2016. PuP exists, but it requires contortions to get to display on top on a desktop setup.

Can we add "inadequately documented" to that list of flaws with UltraDMD? I've made the choice to go for the minimum support for UltraDMD (read: scoreboard only) with anything I do in the next couple of years and focus on using PuP, which has many more features and ways to do things that I can't imagine struggling with UltraDMD to even halfway achieve. I've gotten way further in terms of scripting with PuP than I ever managed with UltraDMD.

In terms of direct VP support for multimedia playback, I would be fine with a call to a Videos folder located in the VP folder, possibly with subfolders based on the CGName commonly used to reference PinMAME ROMs, like can be done with Music.

I actually don't bother about videos. I prefer the tables without videos. It is ok with a short animation when you get an extra ball, a jackpot, during the bonus counts, etc. But they should be short. I actually don't like either the small games played on the DMD, as some tables have. Call me old fashioned, but for me pinball is about an iron ball and a pair of flippers :) So I should prefer that VP11 should concentrate on the playfield part of the pinball, and when it has support for several screens, then it could be possible to add support for video, until then use PuP as it seems to do the job very well.

Oh, believe me, PuP definitely does the job very well for me. And I do understand the whole "keep the animations short" and "avoid small screen games", it's supposed to be in support of the table, not a replacement.

We're working on new stuff (and cleaning up old legacy stuff), with ~140 commits since the final 10.6, but all not in a state to start the next beta (yet)..

Is there a possibility (or can be added maybe to next release) to use command-line parameter to use particular sound mode for a table ? I love to use altsound or pinsound but sometimes I love to play the table with original musiic... now I need to press F1, change sound mode to 0,1 or 2 and restart...

a command line param would allow to maybe start with selected setting from frontend...

Regards

Luk

Don't think it is possible. VPX and Pinmame is kind of two different programs. We like to see them as one, but, they really aren't. What you could do is to write a script that changes all the registry keys so all tables uses pinsound, then have another script that reverts them.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.
