Not sure what you're expected but this is just the first beta version. What exactly do you want to have in VP?

Thanks for all your hard work. So many benefit and appreciate the awesome work.
Many would like to help and contribute if there were good documentation.

A request from many is collaboration with VR add on group and maybe in future incorporate VR in main options.
I usually get debug crash after second ball launching. It usually freezes right after leaving plunger. Audio continues. Can provide more details if I know where and who.
Thanks again, appreciate it.

I think that on real tables its more obvious to see this bounciness as there you have real 3D/stereo (i.e. real life vision ;)), whereas in most cabinets you only have 'mono', thus the perceived depth of table elements, incl. the ball, must be 'guessed' by the brain from other visual clues. And as the rendering of the table is also not 100% physically based, this is even harder for the brain..
Just a theory..  :)

Could the current reflect elements on sidewalls feature be morphed and maxed-out into a full blown “Turn on mirror blades” feature? Kinda doubt it, but thought I’d ask!

Thanks for your work with 10.6 guys. :)

As the screen reflections are rather faked (to make it fast on lower end systems), the only way to have these would be to make it similar to the playfield reflections, which is costly again for all dynamic elements..
Lets leave that for the eventual ray-tracing-only VP.. ;)  Just some years to wait..  ;)

I don't know if it's relevant or important to anyone, but since ball rolling and collision sound is pretty standard in scripting, maybe we make it a default and global setting? with a slider to adjust volume like the global lighting? Maybe make a setting to "follow ball location" for the SSF folk?

At some point i thought about that, too, but apparently the authors preferred back then to have scripting control instead of automatism.
That's why VR Pinball is becoming important /popular ;-)

We are in contact with Caligula, rest assured. So it will converge at some point, most likely in VP11.

thanks for the info on the noise. hopefully it improves in the future. especially the 10bit..i still have it on 10 bit anyway.  changing my monitor contrast and brightness didn't do anything. none of the settings on the monitor made it go away

Not sure if this is the correct thread to share link. People create a lot of neat stuff for FP. Unfortunately their are some major flaws that cant be fixed imo. Hopefully VP11 allows that kind lighting. Doesnt it look awesome?

Awesome lighting capabilities.

Is this all real-time rendered and not baked stuff? If so - I am impressed !

Why? There are things like PUP nowadays. Of course it would be nice to have in VPX, but we only have so much spare time for new features..

I think they were only asking for mp4 support to make playfield holograms easier to make.

and avoid the long list of images
for very very short video, that goes,.but for consequent video(1 or 2 mn), it is ingerable.

and they are at 10 frames / sec with real video .... oulala .... :stunned:.

some rom ...+3000/ frames for just 1 video

with the mp4, quality / size ratio very good. and in addition there is the sound.... :db:

incl. a playback library is the easy part.. i actually did something like that already for a different project..

but wiring it through all of VPX and rendering it (efficiently!) is the other part of the story.. :)

It looks like a lot of work just to show a hologram. I mean best to keep movies for PUP or UltraDMD and leave the playfield for pinball :) Anyway we can make small hologram animations using a simple flash and a timer.

Occasionally, I saw the ball take an unexpected spin when it hits the flipper,
this happens when I try to stop the ball by holding the flipper up, and the ball comes from above almost vertically on the flipper,

the ball after contact with the flipper bounces towards the tip of the flipper instead of going towards the base.
