As Toxie says there is no difference, all the Reshade filters works on dx9.

@toxie

I reverted back to my old 417.xx driver but no luck. I once again tested the dynamic range in the driver and it works in EFS and windowed. Turning off the NVidia colour settings in the driver made the windowed mode as bright as the EFS. Played with every setting that made sense but the result was always the same.
Any help is appreciated!

Thanks guys!

@schreibi34 : Try different VPX beta's - You only need to extract the vpinballx.exe from each of the archives. https://vpinball.com...s/vp-10-6-beta/

If you find that it changes from one of them, well, then I guess we know that it is not just nvidia related. If it is, well, then I guess the devs can tell if there is something to do about it or if it the way going forward. Many updates so be smart about it. Pick a release somewhere in the middle and if you see a change, pick something in the middle of what you tested and what you haven't yet. Fast method of finding the exact version if there is such a thing.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Thanks @Thalamus! The one thing i will do first is try to reproduce it on my desktop PC. Then i will try older VPX builds.

One thing that i forgot to mention is that i changed the colour settings in the driver in the middle of the DW developing process. I wanted the cab to match my DT gaming monitor. At that time i didn't play much and i left VPX at windowed. Before that change the driver settings were a lot less extreme. The problem might have existed before but was not really noticeable. I changed to EFS just a couple of days ago. So it's possible that the problem exists since the beginning. We will see!

Right out try with VPX 10.5. If it does the same thing, the issue may be your nvidia driver or an associated windows component. I presume you install the nvidia driver "cleanly"?

Almost clean! Removed the driver and restarted Windows. I forgot to run CC-Cleaner, dummy! Win10 found the old 417.xx driver somewhere on the HDD and reinstalled it without asking.

Yea I did change it back the issue is when someone else downloads a table if using 10.6 the scripting is jumbled all up unless they also switch it back to the standard courier new.

Especially when using ASCII art.

  _________  __  _____  ___________
 / ___/ __ \/ / / / _ \/  _/ __/ _ \
/ /__/ /_/ / /_/ / , _// // _// , _/
\___/\____/\____/_/|_/___/___/_/|_|

Now it's this...

_________ __ _____ ___________

/ ___/ __ \/ / / / _ \/ _/ __/ _ \
/ /__/ /_/ / /_/ / , _// // _// , _/
\___/\____/\____/_/|_/___/___/_/|_|

Is there a solution to this?

I am revving a table and my ASCII art is all jacked up. Table is saved on 10.6 beta Windows 10.

I haven't downloaded the recent beta to try, but you can select what font to use in the script editor.  From the script editor window, select Script -> Preferences.  My fonts are all set to Courier

Right out try with VPX 10.5. If it does the same thing, the issue may be your nvidia driver or an associated windows component. I presume you install the nvidia driver "cleanly"?

Tried it on my DT PC and no problem there! Specs i5 and gtx970 8Gig ram win10. Latest 10.6 beta.

Both PC's are pretty much the same. The only real difference is the multi monitor setup on the cab. PF monitor is a 5 year old iiyama and BG monitor is Acer which is older then me. 3rd screen is a no name full HD LCD. All monitors plugged into the gtx970.

I didn't test it with 10.5 because the newest 10.6 works correctly on my DT PC.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

You can read the value of isdropped as well.

debug.print dt1.isdropped

0 for up, -1 for down

Something about two-way gates,

with a damping value of 1 the gate swings continuously after being hit,

and it stops in the open position when the ball(s) stops.
Nothing serious, just use a value less than 1.

Downloaded the most recent beta and it seems all tables are a bit brighter. This is good for newer tables like the latest TOTAN that is made with this change in mind but i think it kinda messes up some of the older tables. Is there an option somewhere that i need to disable/enable per table so older tables can keep the old lighting?

You can always use two different VPinballX or you can add LUT files to the tables.

If I understood the reason why they are lighter, is because of bug fixes. And that means, there is no going back.
