I already mentioned this in this thread, now here is a screenshot. When ball is in a saucer half of it is not visible. No idea if my setup is messed up or it is a bug. Shot is from MM but I can also see this in AFM.

..OK. I'm too stupid to attach an image. So a more brief description: It does not look like the ball is in background of the front edge of the saucer but more like ball is cutted by an exact horizontal line and lower part of ball is not visible.

Do you mean something like this? http://www.vpforums....showtopic=24139

Yes, exactly. Thx. I will try this.

The reflection feature seems not to work for me. I selected in in the table options and set value e.g. to 100. No effect. I habe an nVdia gfx card. Do I have to modifiy the setting in preferences also (e.g. ball decals are disabled in my standard settings)?

No I run Nvidia with shadows and decals off and it works fine.. These are my settings..
attachicon.gifUntitled.png

I really like the new affect tho 628 still runs faster than later builds..
how do you make your resolution go above 1080p? mine doesn't have that option

It will only run at what your monitor supports that was from my desktop pc and that monitor supports a higher resolution.

Ok rev 643 has got a global video setting called "Reflect Ball on all tables". If you set this (it's activated on default) all tables without individual reflection settings are using the ball reflection.
If you disable the reflection option in the table options and save the table it's deactivated for this table only.

@ICPjuggla: check your PM ;)

Thanks fuzzel you are the man!

I posted this in the Shadow FS night mod thread but thought I would post here as well.

I was having major trouble with the new lighting and table stutter.

I finally checked the "Region Optimization" box that says NVidia only and bam, suddenly my ATI card was churning through tables much faster and all lighting problems cleared up.

Perhaps you guys could change the box to now say Nvidia and ATI as it seems to effect both cards. Not just one.

Or fuzzel could just have it on by default no option to turn off really no reason not to have it on. ;)

Great. If there is no reason to have it off in the first place, then make it so. :)

Sorry if this has been asked before...

Is there a way to put a scroll bar in the "select" list.  On most tables, especially with many objects, I cannot select an object once the list fills the space of my screen:

Cheers,

Maceman

how about if we can right click on an object on the left panel, say a ramp and have an option to select all ramps on table and vice versa for all objects?

Arcade4, LoadedWeapon, and fuzzel:

The Region Optimization option was put in by Toxie to fix a bug introduced way back around rev 360 / 362 in which the only resolution / fix apparently was to include this option (to be cleared / deselcted) so that when AA is forced on, certain graphic glitches could be fixed.   Please do not remove this option as some of us still very much need it cleared and enjoy nvidia hardware based AA.  Seems to make a lot more sense simply if one does not like it checked off, to check it on rather than remove the enitre feature and leave some of us totally helpless to disable it for more glitch free AA views and settings we would like to use.

didn't toxie once post he wanted to drop Region Optimization  because it is getting way to complicated in the future ? or did i mix up something here. my experience is that region optimization slows down tables performance... but it fixes the alpha flashers (not to be solid - like on JP's NBA )

for myself... i build a pretty strong PC so i don't really mind performance demanding settings)

Region optimization certainly did not slow down any tables for me. In fact it has made them run smoother.

Before I checked region optimization, the new Shadow table was full of stutter.

Now with it checked on my ATI card it is awesome.

I don't want to remove this option. I thought about to enable it as a default option and perhaps change the text. Arcade4 is right it really speeds up things on ATI cards. The RO is really complicated but

necessary at the moment.

@maceman: There is a new feature in the editor: in the menu bar click on Edit -> Select Elements (or use the hot keys Ctrl+Shift+E) and you get a new dialog where all elements are listed and can

be selected.

Today I played with most of the new features in VP916 and it's really great, thank you very much for all the hard work put in this! The primitives, the lighting options, the ball reflection, the improvements in the editor... It's just amazing!

I was wondering if we could add 2 other features in the editor that could help the making process even more :P

- A Select by Element listbox menu, which would allow us to choose what we can and what we cannot select on the table.
Here a visual of the idea:
Attached File  Select_By_Element.png   31.16KB   10 downloads

- Make the options area extensible, so we could have 2 or 3 columns visible rather than just one, that way we could have all the “SwitchMenus” open all at the same time.
Here is an example with 2 columns:

Thanks again! :D

hmm :hmm: The first idea shouldn't be a problem but I don't have a clue how to add the second ;). The editor is MFC which is a nightmare compared to .NET or QT ;)

Let's wait and see...

Even if you don't manage to do either feature, it's already way more comfortable to work with the editor now than what it was before. :)

Btw, I have a question. Is there a simple way to add something to just lock the camera?

Currently, the camera moves depending on what you create on the table, it constantly tries to frame everything, but this can be very annoying when you work with EMreels for example, because if you add new objects on your table or if you temporarily move away some objects from the table, the framing will change immediately and all your EMreels are off.

Yea thats fine by me just dident know there was a reason to turn it off. Tho you cant force AA anyways on alot of new tables and you cant run with RO off on some new tables so are you just turning these things on and off per table? Or does it work with xp and some old nvidia driver? I would love to be able to force AA but on windows 7 it just messes up to many tables.
