I just noticed in the About pull down in the latest Version 2442 it says " Version10.0 Final (Revision 2442) "

Has the surprise happened already?

That'd be an epic VPX Final release ceremony: "Something big is coming. Gentleman...Pull down your About Menus!"

Personally I don't think VPX is ready for release, IMO does not play anywhere near as fluid as previous versions. Have these micro stutter issues been rectified?

VPX can indeed play as smooth or better than any other previous versions of VP with the "right" settings configured on your system.

Take a look back at these posts starting here and going back about a dozen or so with the information and discussion between myself and Hauntfreaksfor how to achieve using a combination of VP settings, nVidia control panel settings, and Windows Aero / Desktop composition settings:

http://www.vpforums....176#entry324717

gStAv also reiterates / summarizes our findings in a condensed post afterward with some screen captures.  Reading the whole section / posts regarding that conversation will still help though to understand more about ultimately tuning and achieving fluid game play as well as being made aware of some potential gotchas and odd Windows behavior while setting / verifying these settings.

I'm going to have to back BananaBoat up on this one... the last two builds have added a noticeable amount of micro shutter... not constant , but one place I notice it, is when the ball comes straight down the playfield and bounces off the flipper... on that rebound it almost always happens on all tables.... on my setup

Thank you

I have been mentioning this for some time now and it hasn't improved or had the focus it deserves IMO. even if released officially, I won't be adopting it until this stutter is resolved, and I know I'm not alone.

I don't want to sound like an ungrateful prick, because I'm not, however all the dev focus seems to have been around graphics and lighting and not the playability.

Hopefully I don't upset anyone with my own view, admittedly I am not entirely close to all the dev and testing that has happened here.

Indeed...Your powers have grown as the emperor has foreseen.

A far younger and more powerful VP.

And you can adjust tables from the Darkside to the Lightside.

Impressive!!

I believe UseVPMDMD stops functioning when using the new controller.vbs to load VPM...am I wrong? Is there a new method?

I could be missing something, all I know is UseVPMDMD needs to appear before the LoadVPM but since LoadVPM is handled by controller.vbs I tried it in front of the controller.vbs script but had no luck. I even copied the text box from a table I have it working with that doesn't use the new vbs
