Heya Folks,

I get this in the CV WIP when either "Reflect elements on playfield" or Ball Reflections are on with the latest build.

There is no crash.dmp associated with the error.

It makes Ringmaster sad :(

getting something odd... in 2229 seems the PF and plastics are blurred but the primitives are sharp

top image is 2223 bottom 2229

Weird.. I cannot repro such a thing, does it only happen on TOTAN for you?

Could be related to the bugfix i did. Before, the reflection code did 'illegal' things with the the DX API, could be that now the fix is doing something differently illegal..  :/

EDIT: Indeed, i replaced one illegal thing with another. ;) The next build will have the fix.

Hi,

Just a report with VPX rev 2229 and Kingpin table. This table worked good on previous revs, but won't work with 2229 :

captur10.jpg

And :

captur15.png

If I set "Const HighPerformance = 0" instead of "Const HighPerformance = 1" in the beginning of the script, the table launch, but gives me the same error, at a different line, when I launch the ball.

Thanks for the good work ;)

Has anyone found some nice rubber settings so the ball is nice and bouncy and doesn't try and crawl up the rubber? I know I could put them to un colidable and just use invisible walls, but there has to be some setting I haven't found yet so the rubber acts like a rubber should and the ball doesn't do weird things on it..

I've been playing with them for a few days now and can't seem to lock down some good setting. Suggestions please.. :-)

No Toxie, didn't change anything except VPX.exe.

Tried downloading again the table, just in case, but it didn't help.

Has there been a bug report on this?  Seems people have a lot of problems with this, and it shouldn't be this complicated.  I too have these issues.

It gets buggier with more height. 25 height works perfectly, but won't look right by itself. Same thing happens with collideable primitives sometimes.

Okay, actually didn't expect that somebody would use 16bit-per-component-bitmaps in VP so far.

I'll fix that.

I'd started a thread on this and gtxjoe and others gave a few good suggestions.  I've been playing around with the settings I had posted and am finding setting friction low .05 with gravity to 1.1 and elasticity of .2 for the playfield.  On the rubbers I've currently got them set to .9 for elasticity .4 for falloff and .3 for friction.  I had to lower the power of my flippers a bit also as then the ball was moving to fast with the low friction.  Currently they are set to 2000 for power and .7 for elasticity and .3 for fiction.

I'm still playing around with the setting but the table has been acting much better with these settings.

Here was the thread,

One table I'm working on the settings above are playing pretty good, I haven't gotten any weird spin.  Another one is playing much better, but I still got the weird spin on rubbers a couple of times.

Feature-time again:

The next build introduces an (optional) change to displaying the DMD via textboxes (like in TOTAN or JPs NASCAR mod).

You can then set UseVPMColoredDMD in the script instead of UseVPMDMD if you like to get the user-defined color(s) like setup in PinMAME. This of course requires that the textbox that outputs this is set to color=white, otherwise the color will modulate the user-colors.

EDIT: you will need the very latest VPM build for this from the alpha/beta thread to make it work: http://www.vpforums....showtopic=27063

and also copying the core.vbs again from the new VP build.

rev2239 is up:

- update core.vbs to 3.47: UseVPMColoredDMD can now be used instead of UseVPMDMD to get the internal colored variant instead of the brightness mapped
- add DMDColoredPixels to table interface to pass in 0..255RGB data for DMD instead of 0..100brightness
- script editor updated by brandrew

A lot of good progress in VPX!!

I had mine running in Windows 10, but I'm having a few difficulties with how it looks. The right side of the screen (where all the tools and buttons are) it's fixed to a resolution and don't scale to a proper size. The same with options screen and so on. But I'm running it on a crazy resolution of 4K

I will post a picture soon.

Found that VP uses the windows text % in the program. So it adjust depending of the OS text size. For example, I was using 300% in the text size because I'm using a resolution of 4K in my TV (so I can read without difficulty) text get so tiny in that res lol.

Drop it at 100% and all is normal. VP doesn't adjust, have fixed layers/sections/panels. Easy fix for developers. Wink wink.
