vp10 physics

Hi there,  been working on a couple different vp10 tables and am running into a weird physics issue.  Most are conversions of vp9 tables.  For the most part happy with my physics tweaking on them...  ball feels heavy bounces off rubbers well.....  But I get what seems to be excessive backspin sometime.  I notice is the most at the top of rubbers or outlane posts the ball will roll down the lane a bit then spins back up the rubber and around.  It doesn't happen all the time, but enough to bring it up.  I also see it when you hit a target(wall) or a rubber post straight on..  the ball sorta spins for a second in place then bounces back.  In general I'm using the settings bellow for things.  I've tried different physics settings(by try I mean copied others settings) and can't really shake it...  not sure If I'm missing a setting somewhere or have a setting way out of whack.  Thanks for the tips!!!

Try to lower the height of the rubbers. I would also lower the friction on the most parts. 0.3 is fine and the ball has a chance to stop spinning. You can increase it slowly later...

Playfield friction is set to .9.  This will cause a lot of ballspin

 

 

From the wiki, the initial recommendation is much lower .08 to .1.  Most of the tables are using even lower than that - I looked a a few vpx tables and highest I saw was .05 and lowest was .025

Also, make sure primitives are set to toy if you aren't actually using them for collisions, wierd things will happen and I've seen it actually be the cause of a similar behavior to yours before.

Thanks everyone for the tips, I had been raising the friction to slow the ball down / make it feel heavier.  I'll play around with the lower settings a bit more...  a few quick tests and I've not seen the backspin issue yet.

Slowing the ball down. Try reducing the flipper strength and table slope
