File Name: Cobra (Nuova Bell 1987)

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 24 Nov 2025

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
akiles50000
mfuegemann
pedator
Manufacturer: Other - Pinball
Year: 1987
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Table based on Cobra by Nuova Bell from 1987.

akiles50000: all graphics
jpsalas: VPX table
mfuegemann: vpinmame script
pedator. testing, rom options and dip switch

Special thanks to:
Néstor: tesing and getting the rom to work
Kiwi: testing and quality check

The table's zip file includes the rom and an updated nuova.vbs which now includes the test key codes, so you may change the rom settings.
The table also includes a dip switch routine (F6 during play) to change some useful settings. Thanks to pedator for those changes!

Put the rom to your roms folder, and replace your nuova.vbs in your scripts folder with this new one.

The only changes in nuova, vbs are the rom testing and settings key numbers, and those keys will also work with other Nuova Bell tables.

Once again, a great table.

Looks good and plays great.

The whole thing is very motivating.

Some tasks/goals are very heay to terminate.

My wish would be that after losing the ball, some tasks/goals are not reset.

There are some setting you may change in the rom, take a look at the manual at the IPDB.

If you press F12 you will get some info about how to change the rom settings.

Dear JP,,

thank you for this recreation. I cannot access the dip switch menu. It shows up but I see no mouse pointer. How can I adjust the setting to 5- balls game in the script?

Sincerely, Christian.

Sincerely, Christian.

This is a VPX8 problem, you have to trick VPX8 to show the mouse pointer, but I guess you only need to set the display to Window and not Exclusive Fullscreen mode.

When you express your gratitude, most of you forget that I created all the graphics to achieve this quality after countless hours of vectorization and retouching.

So, the least you can do is thank both JPSalas and me, not just JPSalas, because otherwise I won't be motivated to create new tables.

I think it's fair because otherwise those recreations simply wouldn't have existed.

I was not aware of this. Thanks for your contribution!

This is a great looking table. I really notice the difference in care when I look at some tables developed for older versions as I switch from legacy to Windows mode, with unnnatural lines, or blurred text etc.
