I installed some SFF components and they work great in VPX and PinballX. Adds so much immersion. But the volume was unbalanced depending on the table I was playing as most of you already probably know.

I used PinVol v1.2 for years on this cab without issue but this version did not support the SSF audio control.  Before I knew there were seperate controls I played with SSF devices installed for a couple weeks without issue.

I found a YT tutorial showing how you could adjust SSF individually and downloaded v2.1 of PinVol and Equalizer APO.
I followed the steps(except for adding to te startup) and the SSF controls show up in PinVol...- https://www.youtube....list=LL&index=1

AWESOME! , right!  Well no...  :)

It seemed like it was working fine on the first couple of tables I edited but then all of the sudden all sound would stop on PC.

Try to test my USB audio device(StarTech 7.1 external device) and I get error.

Reboot PC and can test speakers again.

Start PinVol and edit maybe one or two tables in VPX.

Close out of Table and open another one and I get "could not create sound buffer for load" in VPX.

Try to go test the audio device in Sound Options and it errors out.

I need to logoff or reboot before I can get the sound device to work again.

Verified issue does not occur until I launch Pinvol.  I tested with Alien Poker 10 times of starting and closing in VPX with no issue.

Turn On PinVol and it works once or twice and then errors out.

I removed Pinvol and re-added, uninstalled APO and issue remains

PinVol does save the settings for the table when it does work correctly

VPX error - which I think it just when PinVol "breaks" VPX can no longer find audio device

Can no longer use Audio Device

Thanks for any advice as I am at a loss.

"Updated" to Windows 10 and I do not seem to get the buffer error anymore but when I try and adjust the BG and exciters I see the volume on screen going down but no change is happening to the table itself. If I adjust the table volume as a whole it does go lower and higher, but not the individual components.  What in the world.  :)

"Updated" means I could not actual update Win7 to Win10 so I installed a second drive and put the windows 10 OS on there.  I installed VPX, PinVol and the Equalizer APO applications on to the new drive.  then I copied the files from my Win7 drive to the new VPX folder on windows 10.

This thread helped with my new issue

https://www.vpforums...showtopic=47501

In the end I think I needed to install my sound drivers from vendor site vs using the Window10 default ones.

So far no Sound Buffer error on windows 10 setup...will test more later this week.
