Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on my second build. I built my first one a couple of years ago and there I used SSF with 

4x DAEX58FP Exciter

2x TT25-8 mini bass shaker

I was quite satisfied with the bass but not 100% with the sound of the exciters, however I'm not sure if it was just for the lack of
power or more the quality of the sound.

I was thinking of getting those for my new build:
 

4x DAEX32EP-4 Exciter

and pait them up with the same bass shakers.
I'm also tempted by the BST-2 bass shakers which have quite a bit more power, but I feel these might be overkill.
I can't find anyone who has "experienced" both, so I was just curious if anyone knows how they compare and if it would be
worth the upgrade?

One thing I don't like about them is that they use a sticky surface to mount them. I'd rahter also have a way to screw them into my cab.

So just in terms of price and ease of use I'm also tempted to go with the DAEX58FP again.

Anyway I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on this!

I currently use the Dayton Audio DAEX58FP exciters and when I first installed them I was not impressed at all but I noticed that when they were screwed secrely to the box they actually arched up a bit and formed a cavity in middle so the vibration did not fully resonate into the wood cabinet.  What I did was use thin plastic spacers in the middle of the exciters to make sure they contacted the cabinet wall...man what a difference that made.  You might want to try that before you buy new exciters.

Thank you for this suggestion! I will definitely double check my mounting and make sure they make perfect contact with the cabinet. Might just go with the same as before then. However I'd still be interested in having a comparison between the two models

I recently installed:

 

1x Dayton Audio BST-1 Bass shaker (screwed securely into the cab, using the preconfigured screw-holes).

2x Dayton Audio DAEX58FP Exciters (screwed securely into the cab, using the preconfigured screw-holes).

 

and I´m amazed by the added value it brings to gameplay!

Both attached to a ZK-MT21 2.1 Channel amp (fed by a 24V 15A 360W DC power supply).

 

I seperated the ´General Sound Effects´ from the ´Backglass specific Sound Device´, which is attached to a seperate amp using: 

 

Subwoofer GT Audio GT-SW10/4 10´´ 2x 4Ohm DVC 200w RMS

+

2x JBL Stage3 527 200w peak.

 

Worth every penny!

Since we are on the subject do either of those budget amps (zk-mt21 or zk-tb21) have any issues with high pass or low pass filters on the outputs that interfere with the functionality of the exciters/shakers?

I just run mine for driving conventional speakers, but NO ... not that I've expereinced.

 

I do know that it's best to run them at the full 24-volts (or there abouts) and at sufficient amps ... to run the various (4-8 ohm speakers) to full sound output.
