Hi guys,

It's been a few days (weeks ?) I'm trying to solve my issue. Maybe you could help me please... 

Sorry for my english, far to be perfect.

I carefully followed Marty's tutorial to let 32 and 64 bits VPX cohabit on my Windows 11 system.

PLEASE NOTE everything is working perfectly with 32 bits VPX version : absolutely no problem !

 

The issue is with the 64 bits version : Toys (contactors, shaker, strobes...) are ok, but the LEDs are not working at all.
They're blinking once at table's launch (Red/green/blue) to show the initializing of DOF, then ... nothing.

I copied all my x86 Config folder in DirectOutput-x64, I tried to change paths name in GlobalConfig_B2SServer.xml

 

I have 2 logs, the 1st using x64 version and the second with x86, both with the same table (Fish Tales) 

You can clearly see there's a difference in the x64 log cause  it's trying to find a D:/ hard drive (that doesn't exist cause I have one single C:/ hard drive) and it's not the case with x86. I wonder if it's a registry entry issue...

I think I'd rather make a fresh new install of DirectOutput using .msi file.

In the configuration line for the rom being used look for this line:

 

W2|W3|W4|W5|W6|W7| Red M2000 Blink F200 AH100 AL15 AT0 AW15 SHPLetterR L15

 

and edit it to remove the extra OR statement right before RED so that it reads like this .....

 

W2|W3|W4|W5|W6|W7 Red M2000 Blink F200 AH100 AL15 AT0 AW15 SHPLetterR L15

 

and that will get rid of the exception.

 

Your DOF installation is working fine, your configuration settings probably have enough exceptions from incorrect entries that DOF is just giving up trying.

Hi, Thanks for your answer, really appreciate. 

 

A friend of mine sent me his working DirectOutput-x86 and -x64 folders. By replacing with my config files I noticed that I had Toys working (Contactors, knocker, ...) but absolutely no LEDs either in x86 or x64.
So I decided to make a fresh new DOF installation, first in 32 bits.

to install the last DirectOutput version (April 16th 2021).

I also created a new DOF configuration in configtool.vpuniverse, just in case of... But I have the feeling that my Config and .ini files are not the source of my issue.

 

Then... The same ! Toys are OK but no LEDs !   
So I replaced the files one by one using the ones from the previous working directory. The guilty is : DirectOutput.dll     

The Leds are not working with version 3.1.7776.42172 (16th April 2021) but are ok with version 3.1.7692.31805 (22th Juanuary 2021)

 

So of course I'm wondering if the same issue doesn't apply with 64 bits DirectOutput.dll file, that sounds logical no ? That should explain why I have no LEDs in 64 bits either.
As I'm a newbie (and a bit stupid  ) I tried to replace the 64 bits dll by the 32 bits one but of course that doesn't work.

 

EDIT : It seems that this 32 bits version (3.1.7698.40087) works correctly : http://mjrnet.org/pi...jr-20210128.zip

Hi, some news....  

I tried to install Visual Studio 17 (@mjr used this version) and tried to compile the x86 source code available here in 64 bits :

But I got an error, so I asked a friend to try as he's more competent than me.
He told me there was a missing package and it was impossible to build.
So I hope @mjr or someone will be able to help me.

YEEEEHAAAAA ! Issue solved after many hours of research.
The problem was that the brightness setting is different between last version of Directoutput and the previous I used.
When doing some little tests I noticed my backboard is displaying some very dark red lights, it was displaying only red and it's barely noticable so I haven't noticed that before.
I put brightness back to 100% in my cabinet.xml and Yesssssss it's alive !!!!
