sound stutter

Hello everyone, everything good

lately I'm having problems with sound stuttering on some tables like Elvis and Scared Stiff... I couldn't imagine what was going on, this is new to me.

the game runs perfect, no crashes or ball stutters... but the sound

does anyone have any idea what would be going on?

thanks

hugs

I have some sound stutter too on some of those games, but only at the start. I guess it is vpinmame caching something, because after that it is ok.

Its a miracle we don't have more sound issues if you ask me :)

Sound stutter though, from my experience, if your hardware hasn't changed, then maybe a setting did put an extra strain on your install ? Sound stutter is one of the first signs of performance issues ! BUT !!!! It is absolutely not always the case. JUST and indication !

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

thanks JP

I really don't remember in the previous version of VpinMame if there were these stutters... I've noticed this more recently... and I'm using the latest version of VPX and VpinMame

in that case do i believe stuttering would happen at any table or not?

running "heavier" tables it doesn't happen.

All you need to do to check if it is pinmame related is to replace the current vpinmame.dll with an older one. You can pr. example - just rename the current temporarily and get and old, "minimal", only extracting that dll to pinmame folder.

hi all just thought i would do some testing regarding the stutter effect when playing scared stiff and other tables, came across this post and decided to update my vpinmame.dll file I got from github minimal zip.

 file version 3.6.0.929

That version above is the one causing me issues.

vpinMAME.dll

file version 3.6.0.1227

This version so far so good has fixed the problem with scared stiff and some others... so ladies and gentlemen if in doubt change it out.

My thanks to Pinball wizard for the advice.
