Dear all,

it is extremly uncomfortable, that this message appears every time I start a table. I always have to wait.

I could find informations, this is an built in Test, and that every table has an own "speed" or "timecode" for this test.

Is there any solution to get rid of this message. Or is there a "global" solution?

Thank you all!

Karl

If you are talking about the ROM boot sequence
you could hit F1 and pick skip pinball startup tests, but that wont make it all go away.

It is a ROM, being run in an emulator, so it is going to attempt to do exactly what the controller would have done if you yanked the power cord on it.

If that is not what you are referring to then your post is unclear
perhaps show a screen shot?

Hello wieshund,

many thanks for reply!

I have 30 tables - in all F1-options I have checke "skip pinball startup tests" (if there is the option). But this does not work.

I know about the "power cord"-problem, but I hopes, someone has a solution for this very unnecessary problem...

If I found out how I can post images here, I will do...

What unnecessary problem?

When you turn on your PC, the bios loads then the OS boots, right?

A pinball controller, or any SS arcade machine for that matter is not much different
the controller posts the hardware then loads and runs the ROM code, which typically entails some sort of diagnostics.

That is how MAME works, be it pinMAME or video arcade MAME, because that is how the machines they are emulating work.

Don't think anyone has a solution for something that is not a problem but is a case of working as intended.
Most ROMs take a few seconds at most to run their hard coded diagnostics

Yes I understand, and I like the idea of realism. But when kids are playing and often changing tables, they are wondering, why the "start"-button does not react immediately.

I like it to optimize/customize any system in a way that avoids questions. This is, why I am asking.

Thank you for your comment!
