I've been playing on a cabinet for the past couple years and recently saw some feedback informing me that VPX games are much better than games created via VP9.1.

I want to download and play more VPX games and found two on-line resources for downloads:  VPForums and VPinball.

Both have hundreds of VPX games.

I've been a supporting member of VPForums for many years.

Should I assume that VPForums and VPinball have the same downloadable versions of games?  I see that the creators of games show up on both websites.  Are there some creators that prefer VPForums over VPinball and vice-versa?

I've already downloaded the VPX games from VPForums as the interface is easier to use.  If anyone has a list of games that are VPinball specific, I'll focus on just downloading those.

No sense doubling my download totals.

Thank you.

No do not assume that at all.  Some authors prefer VPForums.org and some authors prefer Vpinball.com.  Keep in mind that managing updates, etc is double the workload.  BTW there are other sites as well that have tables that are only available on their site.  vpuniverse.com, roguepinball.com/ and a few others may have vpx tables as well.

^ Thank you so much for your response.  I will keep that all in mind.  Maybe just focusing on the most highly rated machines from each site...or something.

To be honest, it's part of the fun.  There are two parts to being a member of the VP community:

1 - download the simulator/emulators/roms and other 3rd party files, putting together pincab if that's your thing, etc

2 - interact with the community, the table authors, offer support for members, offer support to authors (beta testing, getting ressources together), words of encouragement, etc

#1 is easy and cheap if desktop (assuming you already have one) or can be expensive if it's a pincab and everything that rabbit hold entails

#2 can be super fun and enriching, can be a time sync but... it is quite priceless.

So multiple sites = more work but more chances to be a contributing member to the community too

Some do multiple sites too. So if you want to avoid duplicates, check the version number, author, and filesize.

I've downloaded a bunch of VPX games now I'm trying to figure out how to load them PinballX so I can use that frontend.  But...I'm not seeing any simple fixes.  Everything is beyond my skill set.

Anyone have any ideas?  I downloaded PinballY but got an error trying to start it up so that doesn't seem to be working...
