I have worked countless hours trying to get tables like Elvis and Tommy to play alternate sound files using PinSound Studio 0.8

Anyone have a step by step detailed explanation of how to install PinSound files for these tables?

I know and have tried all the basics for a proper install, as well as to read countless visual pinball and PinSound forums searching for an answer, but, still, my Elvis pinball table still plays the poor distorted sound using Sound Option 0 in VpinMame.

My understanding is that Altsounds play using VpinMame Sound Option 1 and Pinsounds play using VpinMame Sound Option 2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am using PinSound Studio 0.8, but have not yet tried PinSound 0.9

My VPX Pinball tables are all in good shape, but now need some additional life with new clear sounds.

Thanks!

vpinmame option 2 is correct for pinsound.

Been a while since i added a sound package and not at the cab to check but the process to adding one to pinsound studio is something like; Import the sound package zip and then assign the package to the rom name (all in pinsound studio)

If you've done that and set to option 2 in pinmame then you should get some notification in the pinsound studio window that it is listening, and then when a game is launched using a rom you assigned that it is active.

Pinsound studio needs to be running when you launch vpx, and i think possibly as admin too (from memory)

I am also having trouble finding the version of pinsound which is compatible with VPX.  Apparently there is also a DLL file which is needed.

I cant for the life of me find this anywhere.

When I go to the pinsound website it shows only the new version which is not compatible with VPX

I am using PinSoundStudio-windows-18.8.3, and since using this version with VPX10.16 all the sounds I download are fully working with sound option2 in VPinmame

I have installed 18.8.3 and also the new dll that needs to be updated. But for some reason my pinsound is not connecting to vpx. When I run a table (with al sounds set to 2) I am still gettng original table sounds. When I alt-tab to pinsound studio the connection to visual pinball software still says "waiting". Any ideas?

I am no expert but I love PinSound!  After you have set the Alt. Sound Mode to 2, loaded the sound package and linked the rom if it's still not working then I am tapped out for ideas sorry.  Good luck, hopefully one of the experts will chime in..

You don't need a dll for pinsound studio. What soundpackages are you using and did you install them right?

as Jalei said .. no need to update any DLL with pinstudio 18.8.3...   As for your problem, don't forget to link the exact rom name of your table to the sound pack in pinstudio

I am also having trouble finding Pinsound Studio 18.8.3. Ive tried 8.0, but I lose the sounds for all tables and get an [info] missing error when running the tables. Any idea where I can get 18.8.3? Thanks!

Supported Platforms | Qt 5.15

Vista not a supported OS
Not sure you can fix it
