File Name: Mac Jungle (MAC 1987) VPX

File Submitter: mfuegemann

File Submitted: 20 Jan 2019

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): mfuegemann
Manufacturer: Other - Pinball
Year: 1987
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

This is the VPX recreation of Mac Jungle (1987). Although this was created as a conversion kit for Mac's Galaxy, the table layout and rules are completely new.
Akiles provided lots of images of the playfield and plastics scans. The table redraw was really hard with the populated playfield as a starting point.
Some of table objects have been created by dark and GTXJoe (screws, light bulbs, gates). Thank You for this.

At the top of the script, You have some options:
- DimGI   allows You to adjust the GI brightness
- FreePlay  adds a coin each time a game is started

A DIP switch menu to change the number of balls is availiable too (F6).

The table is set up for FS and DT mode. I will upload a B2S backglass too.

The Highscore will prompt You for initial. Use the flipper keys to change letters and PlungerKey or StartGameKey to enter the chosen value.

Have fun
Michael

Edit: I just removed the wrong ROM link. Please use Google to find the correct file "macjungl.zip".

Mac's Galaxy is a great table so this sounds fun having. Thank you very much Michael, and of course to Akilles, Dark and GtxJoe for providing resources. Soon heading to bed, but, not before trying this out ! :)

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Is this link to the ROM correct? When I test the rom in vpinmame it fails.

MAC jungle new version should contain juego1.bin and mac_snd.bin

table uses "mcjungle" and the checksums don't match.

Anyone get this to load?

EDIT: I got this to load if I use the MAC Galaxy rom. macgalxy

Hi,

sorry for the confusion. The redraw took me so long, I forgot about the bad dump at Tecnopinball. Please use Google to find a download für "macjungl.zip".

Thank You Thalamus for stepping in so fast.

Regards

Michael

I don't know about you guys. But, I think that this mod kit improves the game. Thanks again guys for making this table.

Hi Bob,

adding a Post-It Highscore to a ROM table is almost impossible as the ROM is keeping track of the scores. If the ROM has no Highscore feature, You maybe have to install a hardware Post-It solution…

Does anyone know where to find a wheel image to use with a front end? I searched all over and images & information is scarce on this table.

@Brer Frog : I've uploaded an image wheel (redrawn from the backglass logo) here

https://vpinball.com...image-mac-1987/

I've also tried to upload it on VPF of course, but it seems it didn't work ?!?

(I hope that links to other sites are ok ?)

Thanks -

I tried making one by cutting/paste from this flyer image, but it's slightly cut off at the top.
