File Name: Tag-Team

File Submitter: roccodimarco

File Submitted: 12 Jul 2018

File Category: VPX Recreations

Author(s): roccodimarco<br />hmueck<br />arngrim<br />32assassin
Manufacturer: Gottlieb
Year: 1985
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

Gottlieb's Tag-Team.  I recently stumbled across an old thread, where creators were testing out tables in the infancy of vpx.  In that thread was a Tag-Team table, and I fired it up and to my surprise the table plays fine!  I did make some minor tweaks to try and match videos I watched on this very addictive table.  I was a big fan of the vp9 tables, but it never "felt" right and I was constantly tweaking it.  I can say, this version plays great and just feels nice.  I went through this table and cleaned it up to the best of my photoshopping abilities, so while not perfect, it looks much better than it previously did.

I have played through the game and can confirm multi ball works, and looks awesome when activated.  However; one minor "bug" I can't figure out and I have a sneaking suspicion it lies somewhere in the dip switches, when you hit the extra ball feature, the shoot again light will not activate as supposed to.  I reached out to the original creator of this table, hmueck, and he confirmed the light does in fact work, but thats as far as we got.  I searched for a dip switch guide but came up empty handed.  So maybe someone can figure out this mystery.

As I stated above, big thanks to the original creator  hmueck who gave me the permission to edit and release this table.  Also, from reading through the old thread it looks like arngrim provided a dof script of some kind.

This Dips setting should give the extra ball, all the Gottlieb System 80b work the same way.

dip 22 : Playfield special = On     Replay or extra ball

dip 28 : Noveltyl = Off                  Normal or extra ball and replay scores 500k

dip 29 : Game mode = On           Replay or extra ball

Thanks to Inkochnito https://www.vpforums...s&showfile=2261

I remembered because I had set up another system 80b table, to get the extra ball.

Hi,

I looked which table with a dip switch menue is existing was closest to the production date of Tag Team and found Rock. With the Rock dip switch menue (Thanks to Peter) I was able to set the game to 5-ball - operation. I'll check later the other options this menue offers.

 Also, still throwing it out there, if someone wants to help out with the lights by all means go for it!   I have tried, but it always ends up looking awful in the end and I end up not saving the work.

i just took the table, the bumpers are sharing the same switches, same for slingshots, code needs to be updated to have a full DOF active for these objects

'Bumpers
Sub Bumper1_Hit:vpmTimer.PulseSw 75 : playsound SoundFX("fx_bumper1",DOFContactors):DOF 101, DOFPulse:End Sub
Sub Bumper2_Hit:vpmTimer.PulseSw 75 : playsound SoundFX("fx_bumper1",DOFContactors):DOF 102, DOFPulse:End Sub
Sub Bumper3_Hit:vpmTimer.PulseSw 75 : playsound SoundFX("fx_bumper1",DOFContactors):DOF 103, DOFPulse:End Sub

and

Sub RightSlingShot_Slingshot
    vpmTimer.PulseSw 46
    DOF 104, DOFPulse
    PlaySound SoundFX("right_slingshot",DOFContactors), 0,1, 0.05,0.05 '0,1, AudioPan(RightSlingShot), 0.05,0,0,1,AudioFade(RightSlingShot)
    RSling.Visible = 0
    RSling1.Visible = 1
    sling1.rotx = 20
    RStep = 0
    RightSlingShot.TimerEnabled = 1
End Sub

Sub LeftSlingShot_Slingshot
    vpmTimer.PulseSw 46
    DOF 105, DOFPulse
    PlaySound SoundFX("left_slingshot",DOFContactors), 0,1, -0.05,0.05 '0,1, AudioPan(LeftSlingShot), 0.05,0,0,1,AudioFade(LeftSlingShot)
    LSling.Visible = 0
    LSling1.Visible = 1
    sling2.rotx = 20
    LStep = 0
    LeftSlingShot.TimerEnabled = 1
End Sub

Thanks for making this!  Table plays fine but the audio has an on going whirring....noise that plays the whole time unless another audio event is triggered.  I never played the real life table to know if this  is normal or not.  :)  If it is can we turn down the volume of that whrring to be ambient noise?

Yes, that is how the original table played.  You can turn if off via dip switches.  I forget what switches turn it off, but going off memory sine I'm at work, I believe it was the 30's dip switches that turn on off that sound
