Haven't played FP in quite some time and was using my keyboard, but recently got a Hori RAP 4 arcade stick & am anxious to try it out & play some tables again

When I went to the menu & enabled joystick, it recognized it..but after loading a table the only actions any of it's buttons seemed to do was change the camera angle & another button moved the table up & down.

Can someone please help me out as to what needs to be done & if there is any way to just set the desired controls by pressing the corresponding buttons on the joystick (As in MAME). Would be ALOT easier that way, even if the buttons appeared to do something I don't have memorized which is "button 7, button 10" etc on the stick..They come up different in MAME which is all I've used it for so far,,With that I get a "left shoulder button" "right shoulder button" & other choices besides numbered buttons

Thanks in advance

Hello....my experience with USB game controllers is you have to use a program called Joytokey.

Check out my website for any latest updates or information on current builds that I am working on.

Hi Matt....between Joytokey and xpadder which do you think is better.  I haven't used xpadder and I've had some issues with Joytokey.

I've tried that, but no luck.

Configured the keys to joystick buttons, saved the profile, associated it with the future pinball.exe, but nothing happens. Whether I select the joystick or keyboard in FP's menu, won't work

I think you can just click arrow next to joypad number, and just keep trying a different number until you get the right one. (If it is recognized and shown in menu,)

In this example pic, you can see how it set default buttons 7 and 8 for flippers, and they say L and R, like a SNES controller would have, except with my gamepad, these L and R buttons are numbered 5 and 6, so I click arrow next to button I want to change, and change to desired button.

Eventually you will set to right button, as there are only 10 choices.

It also helps to right click on your Future Pinball.exe and go to properties, then click compatibilty, and checkmark "Run as Administrator".

Hope this helps.

Thanks alot! Maybe not checking the "run as admininstrator" was the reason it wasm't working at 1st....Really made no sense to me why I would have to use a joystick mapping app, when it seemed to recognize my joystick & had a menu to set the buttons...Would just be nice to be able to load a table with joystick too & not have to worry about grabbing the keyboard to scroll through list & hit play

Great news Steva, glad it is all working now. Buy the way you will still need your key mapper if you want to use nudge switches as i think they are only available as keys from the fp menu.
