File Name: Rollergames Zedonius Requlem DT Batch_MOD

File Submitter: batch

File Submitted: 01 May 2016

File Category: VP/VPinMAME 9.x - MOD Tables

Author(s): Zedonius
Requlem
CyBORG & MrHide
Bodydump
Batch
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1990
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

1.2 - Added metal post with rubber between flippers (below "SKATE AGAIN"), replaced wire by small bar (left lane) like on real pinball. Thanks to Zany for information
Set flashers colour to white. Thanks to JPSalas for telling me

1.1 - Updated flippers settings (thanks to StevOz) except the following :

LeftFlipper & RightFlipper : Oblique Correction -> 6 instead of 1.2 (for me, the ball didn't go towards the center of the table), but you can set it to 1.2 if you prefer

Flipper1 : Physics remain the same except for Recoil Velocity -> 4 because for me, it was too difficult to throw the ball to the Wall of Death

Here is the table with StevOz settings

Posted Image

I also lowered wire ramps close to the apron, deleted some remaining walls hiding the playfield at the top of the table

and reworked the plastic under the ramp at the top right of the table (I noticed these things when doing the FS version)

1.0 - This is a conversion from FS to DT of Requlem's table "Rollergames FS 1.3 HD 1.3"

The original table is from Zedonius and It's impossible to contact him, but last year, he gave me permission to MOD his table "Checkpoint"

So, please, just tell me if you accept my upload in this case

Here is what I did :

Backdrop, new apron, new ramps & wires (primitives), new plastics (the pit, middle left & right and transparency on left & right lanes)

new plunger, Williams logo on flippers, added side rails, replaced lateral targets by circular models, replaced lights by Flashers

Big thanks to JPSalas for telling me how to set the Flashers in the Script and to Freneticamnesic for his help and method to convert FPinball ramps to VPinball

Credits go to :

Zedonius : original table
Requlem : FS version
CyBORG & MrHide : scripts
Bodydump : HD playfield
Freneticamnesic : method to convert FPinball ramps to VPinball
JPSalas : Flashers in the Script
Zany : image "Zany_Chrome" applied to metallic ramps

You're a lucky man, Zany

When I was a young man, I've had a Panthera, and there's nothing like a real pinball !

But, there's something cool with VPinball, we can have hundreds of pinballs in the same room ! :D

For sure....nothing is like the real deal...me and my friends have 17 real machines in our club.
True...you can have hundreds.....thats why i build a VP-cab to have at home....it is fun, you can learn the rules, and also, you can play pins you may not find in real life! :)

Is there anyone that knows what they are doing that is willing to re-mod this improved desktop version back to a FS version with the same upgrades?   :love39:

Batch.... all that stuff is in there... FS users change this line.... but thats up to the user... you wont need to worry about it

from:

Set Controller = CreateObject("VPinMAME.Controller")

to:

Set Controller = CreateObject("B2S.Server")

and heres the crazy FS backdrop setting i use.... this keeps the table at as close to 1:1 scale as possible

Thank you very much for this DT table.

I had downloaded the FS table a couple days ago & was trying to convert to a DT. Since I don't know what I'm doing you've saved me a whole lot of time & aggravation. And of course yours looks a lot nicer than anything I can do.

I don't know how you do it, but thank you for all your time & talent.

I just noticed this & the only reason Is because I was playing around with a conversion earlier. I'm not trying to be critical & apologize if coming across that way. The "war" image that is on the backwall of the playfield does not extend all the way across to the right side. However it does on the original FS table. I have no idea why this is.

Very nice Batch and all involved and I'm liking it a lot, so much so I spent sometime adjusting the flipper settings as I thought these needed a little bit more love.

Firstly I reduced the swing arc of all the flippers to a more realistic 54 degrees down from the 60 degree arc of the lower flippers and upped the elasticity, whilst equalising the length of the upper flipper to that of the lower flippers, which meant I had to move it a bit to enable the flip shot, as a matter of course, this meant I also changed just about every other setting to get all 3 flippers to the same size, shape and physics.

That said here are the final settings I have for the flippers, you can try these and judge for yourself...

* edited to new final values...

I just uploaded the FS version

Sorry, I read this topic after uploading

Thanks Hauntfreaks, as you know, I've no cabinet and I'm sure that each one of you will use his own settings :)

I have just increased the height of the apron and plunger cover (it's something I noticed when comparing DT and FS versions, if the height is OK in FS version, it's not in DT version and inversely)

Thanks Stevoz, I will try your flippers settings and add them to my next update, because I found some little "mistakes" when doing the FS version

Thanks Brer Frog, I tried to locate the "war" image as on the real pinball,

I agree...the flippersettings was pretty off compared to the real thing...and also abit to strong.
Can wait for the update, but please update both the DT an FS! :)

I just uploaded "Rollergames Zedonius Requlem DT Batch_MOD 1.1", so don't worry if it's disappeared from the download section :)

I changed flipper settings according to StevOz table (above in this topic) except for the following :

LeftFlipper & RightFlipper : Oblique Correction -> 1.2 remains 6 (for me, the ball didn't go towards the center of the table)

Flipper1 : Physics remain the same except for Recoil Velocity -> 4 (for me, it was too difficult to throw the ball towards the Wall of Death)

But you can use StevOz settings if you want

I also did some visual changes (things I noticed when doing the FS version)

For the FS version, I first have to wait for the upload to be accepted :) , and then, for your comments

thanks for these!

do you know how to lower the volume in those tables? for some reason it is much louder than the other tables, and I haven't figured out how to lower the volume...

Try this:

  - Click on the DMD window

  - Press the key to the left of the 1 key on the keyboard (tilde key on English keyboards). A white box should open in the DMD window

  - Using the up and down arrow keys scroll through the options until you find a channel you need to adjust

  - Using the left and right arrow keys adjust the volume of the channel - left arrow lowers the volume right arrow raises the volume

  - Repeat the above two steps to adjust other channels

  - When done press the key to the left of the 1 key on the keyboard to close the white box

  - Click anywhere on the table to return focus to the table

I do not guarantee this will work for you though.  Hope this helps.
