Hey all. I’ve been waiting for a Bally Kiss version for VPX for a while. So instead of asking for someone to make it, I tried my hand at table converting. My parents have this table and it is what I grew up playing as a kid. So it is near and dear to me. I’ve logged many of hours standing at this pin.

This is my first attempt at anything, building wise with VP ever… So I’m posting it here to get your opinions and thoughts. Let me know what you think or what needs to be changed. I’m open to criticism even.

Thanks to JP for allowing me to convert it and help with the bumper lights.
Have a good day and enjoy

Nice start! :)

Now, the next step should be to assign a material to all the objects on the table, this way the "pink" shading will disappear.

And after that you may remove the extra lights and copy the new fading script (for ex. from my AFM table). The old script using 2 lights, to simulate fading, does not work fine in VP10, The extra lights are called with an "a" at the end, like l1a, l2a, l3a.

And after that you may start with the rest of small things, like the slingshot animation, the rolling sound, and maybe get higher resolution graphics, like the ones in my VP9 FS version (http://www.vpforums....s&showfile=5626). Other authors have made even better playfield & plastics :)

And the rest of the conversion can be done later, like tweaking the physics for all the objects, make a better apron, add the scoring back to the desktop version, etc.

So I guess you'll be busy for the next months :) Good luck! :)

And if you're really feeling like making an LE, look at Haunt Freaks 'Scooby Do meets Kiss' table and figure out how he added the music to it:) I'd love to have that.

I had to take out the Pinball Wizard plunger code in order to make it run.  I've only seen this problem once before.

I also found that the right side flipper lane switch was not working correctly. Seems I had to rename it to match the script. IIRC, it was 26. Unless I somehow mistakenly "dorked" this switch when I was applying my custom laybacks, it might have an issue. But I am very excited for this new VPX table. Many thanks.

yah for some reason I got this error also on my other PC but not on the Laptop where I built the table.  not sure. It will be commented out on the 1.1 update.

Yep, fixed that also.   thanks!

I think there might be an audio problem with this table. At random intervals of playing the table, usually on the 2nd or > game, the MIDI sounds like the dings, dongs and beeps will stop playing. The other sound effects still play, just not the MIDI sounds. It seems to always start with the ball going down the upper center roll-over at the top of the table. After that, no sound unless the table is restarted. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Yes, that's a known issue with this table. If I remember right it always happened to me on the second ball. We never found out if it was a bad rom or the emulation. Even someone said that it used to happen on the real table too. So it may be a bad programming in the rom.

Since I use the rom "kissc", I have no more this problem, but perhaps it's just a good fortune !

The table is "KISS_JP_VP91x_2.2_DT_Batch_MOD" and here are the lines in the Sript

 'Const cGameName = "kiss"
'Const cGameName = "kissb" 'bootleg 7 digits rom
'Const cGameName = "kissp" ' voice prototype currently doesn't work in vpm
 Const cGameName = "kissc"
 'Const cGameName = "kissd"

You can try this rom, and if you want, the table :)

Angrim, I have a new VPX rebuilt version if you want to add the dof to it. I tried to send it to you but your box is full.

Thanks for this table, it looks fantastic in VPX :)

The only slight problem is that I don't have any DOF effects. DOF works with the VP9 version but I cannot seem to get it working with this v1.2 table.

Any suggestions?

don't know if I missed this in the discussion, but my B2S won't load for this table. There is no vpinmame.controller line in the script and no ref to B2s Either. What am I missing?
