I'm sure this has been covered many times before but I can’t find anything relevant regarding DMD location.

 

I can drag DMD to any location I want. Preferably screen 3 would be the ideal place. :-)

 

So everything plays fine. However the next time you play the game the DMD has reverted back to it’s original starting location?

 

I did find a thread talking about another issue that mentioned going into the regedit and changing the values there. This does alter the starting position of the DMD but I can only get it moving around on screen 1 (playfield)

 

Am I missing the obvious here?

 

My screens are set up from left to right as  follows.

 

Screen 3 (DMD 1024 x 768) Screen 1 (playfield 1280 x 720) Screen 2 (backglass 1920 x 1080)

 

What should the x and y be to correctly position the DMD onto screen 3?

The problem could be that vpinmame doesn't allow negative X values. So if your playfield is on main display, screen 3 (dmd) is to left having x value below zero. Rearrange screen 3 to the right place of main screen.

This is true, as the current location for playing my pinball fx2 tables has the horizontal at -1030 and the vertical at 190. But even if I move the order of the monitors around I can't get a figure which will drop the DMD onto the third screen for VP tables?

If I move the DMD monitor right of the playfield so the order is now Playfield (1) DMD (3) and Backglass (2) and change the x to 600 and the y to 0 in the regedit, the best I can get is this where the DMD is still rooted onto the playfeild and over hangs into the third monitor. Any higher values still has the DMD on screen 1?

With Dmd to the right side of PF monitor. Click on the Dmd and drag it over with the mouse to the desired location
Now open regedit and there are the x and y values you should use

the x position should be -> width of playfield. Or you just move the dmd to screen 3 using mouse, quit vpinball and look into registry for that rom at the x value.

this tool can also set all parameters to all tables (roms) and the default setting.

I have everything running correctly now…. It turns out although I managed to have three screens running. I was doing this without installing the Vpmame 2.5 (cabinet) So the DMD would always return to the playfeild.
