File Name: TOTAN_VP91x_3.4FS_Classic_FOM_SUNKEN_FLUSH - JPSALAS-GRIZZ-DOZER316_1.1.zip

File Submitter: Dozer316

File Submitted: 12 Mar 2014

File Category: VP 9.x MOD Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): JPSalas - Grizz - Dozer.
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1996
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Heya,

This is the FOM for TOTAN (Tales of the Arabian Nights) dedicated to Fuzzel (Because he was left out of that other video) :)

Many thanks to JP for the original table, Grizz for the playfield textures and the entire VP dev team and everyone else who is pushing this hobby further.

Also many thanks to jimmyfingers for the use of his excellent GI Bulb and Flasher Halo textures where used.

Two files are included - One for flush view cabinets and one for sunken view cabinets.

If your cab playfield is not sunken like a traditional pinball playfield then use the flush view.  For more traditional cabinets with an under glass playfield monitor use the sunken view perspective.

This version should be played with either the final version of DX7 VP - 9.2.1 or you can also use DX9 VP - Test 9a.

The script is set to use directb2s for the backglass.

At line 33 in the script there are 3 options and these are their default settings.

Const full_bright_flashers = 1
Const glass_overlay_textures = 1
Const daymod = 0

If you want to keep your eyesight, then set Const full_bright_flashers to 0
If you would prefer to not have glass textures rendered over the playfield then set Const glass_overlay_textures to 0
Const daymod changes between night and day versions of the mod.  The default is night mode.

This will be my last mod for a while as an annoying 2 month work contract has come up which will leave me no time for VP stuff.

Please post bugs and feedback in the associated thread - I'll try to answer them as time permits.
I hope you enjoy.

Dozer.

Wow! I really love these ultra realistic light effects! :)

Nevertheless it would be even nicer if you could use the latest beta for this mod - it plays much much better then the latest official release...

It's just you dude. :)

Seriously though, have you turned off full bright flashers in the script?

Or are you talking about the GI?

Yeah that's the GI - I know it's a bit bright but I wanted it to look like real lamps instead of transparent images.  The GI is not adjustable at the moment.  If I get enough complaints and I get time I'll release an update that allows you to tone that down a bit as well.

Dozer.

The new flashers look great. But yeah, I do think the GI will be better when it is a bit less bright.

Thanks!
