File Name: Champion Pub VP921 FS

File Submitter: mfuegemann

File Submitted: 06 Nov 2013

File Category: VP 9.x MOD Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): VP8 table 4:3 by destruk + UR,
VP9 and FS conversion by mfuegemann
3D models by Fuzzel
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1998
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: No

This is the full screen conversion of destruk's and Uncle Reamus' VP8 table. I reworked the graphics, added some playfield details and changed the table layout where I found it necessary.
Thanks to destruk and Uncle Reamus for their original work and the permission to mod this table.
Thanks to slydog43 too for providing a video of the boxer movement in front of a greenscreen and in depth rope analysis.
Thanks to Fuzzel for providing the 3D primitive models and textures for the boxer, rope, fists, speed bag and the flippers. He also introduced the GI flashers.
To the download file I added a playfield picture and the xml section for Hyperpin (contained in version 1.4 only).

Have fun
Michael

I'm using the .UVP files till Wildman makes the .directb2s for this table.

I changed the beginning of the script with  Set Controller = CreateObject("UltraVP.BackglassServ")

But when I start the game I see the backglass for 1 second and then it disappears.

Then I searched in the script and I saw somewhere around line 236 : Set Controller=CreateObject("VPinMAME.Controller")

I put a ' before it and gone is the problem. I don't know if it would be a problem when it's changed to .directb2s....

Hi gogo69,

the rope jump is one thing that may be addressed in future updates. I manage to do up to 3 jumps but it is really hard (I jump with the rope at around 3 o' clock).

The next thing will be the gravity settings, but with this table it will become very hard. Everything is working just by a hair.

Some more lights would be nice too.

My Primary target was to give You a table to play with on a cabinet, even if it is not perfectly polished (yet).

Regards

Michael

Wow, what a time to have my cab down in pieces in the game room floor! Grrr.

Thanks mfuegemann, I'll be given this one heck of a play test as soon as I get these final assembly issues worked out and my cab back to a playable state.

Yea...the jump rope thing is hard to do. I was going to post on tips to do it but you beat me to the punch. Nice table though. Thank you

hi michael ! thanks for your efforts

i guess the rope jump is kind of hard to realize

the boxing on the right is very good ! :D

i experimented a little with gravity constant and 1,5 seems pretty good :)

It is essential to comment line 238 to use b2s.server, and DOF (config is on the way), or it will launch vpinmame.controller anyway.

as gogo69 stated changing gravity constant to 1.5 is pretty close to my real machine at home.  Thanks for this recreation, as this is a party favorite for sure

Only had time for one game.

Simply gorgeous.

Flippers don't play like I like them and the table seems a bit slow, but all this I can fix.

Thanks a million for all the hard work I know this table took to create.  :)

Does anyone know the script code edit so that when playing on a 3 monitor cab, the DMD will hold its position on the 3rd screen?

Thanks for a wonderful long-awaited table (with dB2S!).
