All 16:9 games require vp9. That fixes your leftmagnasave problem.

Recently fired up this ol table and found issues with the Rom.

Rom starts, displays first (location) screen - music stops and screen goes blank.

Rom loaded via Pinmame only - does the same (warns of balls missing then blank)

Deleted Nvram, roms reg entry, and redownloaded rom

Any ideas ..?  And is this happening for others ?   Cheers

I just started it up: works fine for me.
Maybe try my nvram.

Thanks hmueck, tried it but no luck.

Displays first 3 screens of rom whilst playing attract tune, a few dropwalls fall on table then rom goes blank (but still able to open settings menu / resize etc)

Noticed that if I retried it - No music, displays first screen (Sega Pinball Golden Cue) then goes blank

Fresh copy of the nvram and back to beginning

That it works on your system and it appears it could be a nvram reading/writing issue? am thinking perhaps a bad block on the ssd ?

SSD problems look possible because i started getting warnings on boot up of sata port error (that followed the drive when swapping ports)

and then just as suddenly they've stopped :)  So a pretty good sign to make sure my backup's in order !

Barely a year old drive (OCZ Agility 3)

That its only on my setup is a good thing, and will see if it works after a fresh install in a few weeks.  Thanks again for your help.

This is happening for me too. I have the FS version of the table (though I'm not sure how since I can't find it online anymore). It has always worked fine in the past but now mine does exactly the same thing as yours. I've been updating a lot of files recently (.vbs, etc) so I wouldn't know where to start in troubleshooting this one. This is the only table I've found that has stopped working though. Please let me know if you found/find a solution. Cheers.

edit: In getting a newer table to run I do remember updating the SEGA.vbs which Golden Cue also uses so I am going to see if I can find an older version of that file. Will let you know if I find anything that works. I have tried the table on 9.12, 9.14 (which is what I've had it working on before) and revisions of 9.15.

In going through my tables for the cabinet I'm building, I fired Golden Cue (FS) up and I think I have a very similar problem.  Table loads with no errors, but I get no DMD, and the table has no lights, music or anything, almost like the table is frozen, but if I recall, I'm able to exit out of the table fine so vp hadn't crashed.  I updated the Sega.vbs files, but I know Golden Cue was having problems for me prior to updating, so that wasn't the issue, for me anyways.  I'll see if I can find a solution or workaround.

GoldenCue FS doesn't work on my cab either. The game starts, DMD comes up, you start a game and then nothing happens. No balls, no actual gameplay.

Desktop version works fine though.

This romset is problematic in pinmame - it might work or might not until we figure out what is crashing it in the emulation.  I asked Gerrit to take a look at it when he has time.

ok, the issue exists with the 'cabinet dll' compiles of pinmame - it works fine in the official public/desktop build of vpm.

So to play this game, you'd need to use that until someone figures out why the cabinet dll builds fail for this romset.

Thanks for looking into that destruk, and getting back to us. Does the cabinet build dll get looked at/updated very often? Or is it something that is otherwise running with no issues?

Other than Sharkey's Shootout and Golden Cue, the cab build is running all the other roms the same.

Yup...Good Ole Spanned tables.

This is what threw me off when I just started on mods.

Try making a DT version out of a Spanned table, and you will see why my VP9 NFL DT mods turned out the way they did.

It is almost impossible to get it to look right in DT view.

It also throws all the X Y and Z numbers out of whack.

Also since the middle of table is not in the center of playfield, but the center is on the left side of table, making the ball roll to the left all the time.

I may redo all those VP9 NFL mods.

I know I am going to redo the sounds part of them,  as I have learned alot more since making those NFL mods.

I didn't even know how to add timers back then.

I quickly figured out never to use Spanned versions to make DT mods!!

Sorry but I had to chime in, as seeing the post above reminded me of my Spanned table to DT nightmare!! lol

Carry on.

you are better of converting the VP8 DT  table to FS view

given that the VP8 table was used to build the spanned table with very little to no quality improvements.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but for me, with VPX, XScale = YScale ?

Or the table will be stretched !
