Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1980
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Unspecified

The first of several unfinished outstanding projects, I'm particularly pleased with how this one has turned out after such a long absence. Several new techniques are premiered with this table:

* New texture-based posts, bright targets, glows, surface shines and reflections, while retaining complete angle-indepence with every object on the table.

* Acti-Flip Sound Dynamics (version 1) - the next level of VP sound physics. Ball rolls, surfaces and flippers that all respond to varying degrees of ball speed and types of collision, producing the widest array of realistic physical sound effects on any table to date.

* Custom dampening - ball speed is automatically capped to an acceptable level, while leaving the plunger shot unaffected. Flippers with a greater power level can be used for more effective centre shots while flyaway rebound flips are greatly reduced.

* Realistic kicker saucers - a ball hitting a saucer too strongly will lip over the top with an audible rattle, and continue at a greatly reduced speed.

Thanks Eala.  Plays real nice.  Can't wait to take a deeper look at the script and see how you've done some things.

Nice to see someone else still creating the desktop versions!

I thought I was the last holdout on them

Great looking table! also  can't wait to see the scripting on certain innovations you did

and am excited to play with your new found physics for the ball

Chepas, I think you should at least be polite and give some thanks for the table before you start butchering it to full screen.

This looks awesome. Thanx so much Eala!

..and thanx for the temp FS specs Chepas. This will definitely help!

Cheers,

Maceman

edit:  After playing a few games, just wanted to put my vote in as probably the best release this year!  The physics and sounds and layout are just superb!  This gets my top vote so far.

Looks awesome, Eala. Looking forward playing some games tonight. I love the 70's and 80's tables.

Chepas, I think you should at least be polite and give some thanks for the table before you start butchering it to full screen.

So clicking the like button wasn't good enough for you? You really think Eala is going to mind, after all he is striving for angle independent tables? Do me a favour , sort your attitude out.

Although the term "butchering" may be overly strong, the intent surely showed a good attitude horsey, there was concern this was inappropriate in a release thread. Wether that is true or not, only Eala could say. Lets us recall that the "likes" do not show all users, not that it should matter to every poster.

I like to refer to these "problems" as good problems, both born via good intentions. ;)

I'll be putting out a specific FS version sometime over the weekend - what Cheapas has demonstrated there is how easy it will be to do. That was one major point of all the new techniques.

I believe the materials are already developed to expand an FS for this game into a cab-dedicated B2S, aren't they?

Indeed. Disable reels, move the 3-4 decals and that was it, and it looks much better than the screeny as that's resized to upload here.

I did start a B2S this morning but wasn't happy with the starting image in the end.

This looks, plays and sounds great Eala  :otvclap:  Was another game I needed to learn rules and strategy, so timing was perfect.

I can just imagine Card Sharks or Wallace and Grommit looking and playing this good.
