Hi guys, I'm pretty new at this but I've spent the last week or so figuring out how all this virtual pinball stuff works and I think I've got most of it figured out... but...

I can't seem to get this table to start a game. Everything seems fine when the table is launched (valedictorian high scores are shown, and the lights flash on the table), and it allows me to insert coins (I hear the coin insert sound play when I push 3, 4, 5, or 6) but pressing 1 or 2 doesn't start the game like other tables. I've tried pressing all the keys of the alphabet A-Z and I can't find one that starts the game playing. What am I doing wrong?

You need to have the nvram file.
Or you have to go through the factory reset.
Set the coin settings ect....
Here is my nvram file.

Thanks Inkochnito, that worked!

For future reference when I can't get a table to work and something like this is the problem, where should I start looking to fix it? For example, how would I have known that this table needed a very specific setup, and what button do I push to access that stuff? I tried searching the forums for 1812 and I didn't see anyone else having my problem, so I'm guessing that I'm way further behind the curve than I thought on this stuff. smile.gif

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could try to find a System 3 manual.
This might also work wink.gif

Wow, and just when I thought I was starting to get a grip on how all this worked I read this post and the reality hit me that this is an emulator... as such, each individual tables real world servicing menus/buttons/etc come into play. Yowza!

I feel like a noob all over again. lol.

Anyhoo, thanks for the great info!

Hi JP (or anyone who can help),

Instead of starting a new thread, i hope you don't mind me asking here...

I am trying to increase the volume on this one, but i can't figure it out. It is a gottlieb table. I tried the coin door, 7, 8, 9, DMD volume adjusting, the works, but can't find how to increase this one. Please help.
Thanx!

Maceman

I think the Gottliebs had a volume control pot, not rom controlled.

There's a way to do it:

In the script, find ".Hidden=1", cange it to ".Hidden=0"
Below that, it says ".SetDisplayPosition 1600,1600,GetPlayerHWnd", change it to ".SetDisplayPosition 10,10,GetPlayerHWnd"

Run the table, now you'll see the alphanumerical display.
Left-click on it, and press the tilde key (~)
Use left and right arrows on your keyboard to navigate through the options. There are several volume options. Use Up/Down keys to change values.
When you're done, press tilde again, and left click on the table to activate it.

You can then edit the script back if you want. (".Hidden=1" being the important part).

Hope this helps

Yes. There are several tables with very quiet sound (Phantom of the Opera comes to mind), this is a way to boost them.

Thanx for the reply!!

However, I already tried that yesterday. Indeed the sound was at 75% for the 2 sound settings in the DMD, but the increase of those to 100% increases the volume of the music and does not affect the vocal parts, which is what i was trying to increase.

I'll try fiddling again, maybe i can lower the volume more so that the vocals are louder. I am not sure how this rom is set up, but if it uses seperate channels, it might work!!

Thanx for the help!
