I lately tried to build a kicker hole as the regular kicker object does not simulate the funnel around the kicker. That's not fully possible as you always get an edge when just raising the playfield and then place a circled wall with a small negative height. Moreover there must be several circled walls, every one a little bit smaller to simulate a funnel. It's not working correctly unfortunately as there shouldn't be an edge but a flattened edge so that the ball is redirected when only touching the border with the ball. But maybe that can be solved with a primitive? Would be great if VP10 could provide such an object.

Will this image be almost correct so reflection mapping works? Getting close I think, but not tried in a table yet, just need the image filled to put me out of my misery.

Last 2 builds crash for me as soon as I try to play a table.  I can add credits but when I press start I get the VP has stopped working error.  I copy the beta_rev1918 version exe back in to VP folder and it works fine.  Any one have a clue how to fix.  I've been using VPX without problem since beta released but last two versions crash.

Are you using the cabinet stretch ball mode? That is currently causing a crash for me as soon as the ball renders (start is pressed). Maybe it's not just me...

I tried it with the Boomerang table. Setup the table for cabinet view, Stretch ball with table -> okay. Switch to "Cabinet Anti-Stretch the ball" -> my old friend appeared:

Sadly, no crash dump.

P.S. The crash doesn't happen, when i lower the "Object Detail Level" by one.
Every other setting had no effect.

Ah ok thanks for the info. The crash seems to happen with the new high poly ball. The detail level influence the poly count of the ball.

So.......any documentation on getting a ball texture correct?

I built something that can load a room & the table in 3D to take pictures and convert to a sphere but it seems they're not as good as an equilateral panoramic sphere.

a magnet also causes the ball to snap in. I think at the monent there is no realistic way to build a kickerhole. FP and TPA simulates that correctly.

You can disable the "snapping in" with "grabcenter = 0". When the magnet is soft enough, it just nudges the ball in the direction of the kicker. and when the kicker grabs it ball, the magnet can be disabled.

rev1948 is up:

- fix crash in FS mode when using ball anti-stretch mode
- set dirty flag if material settings were changed in the material manager
- switch back to VP main window when closing material manager window

rev1949 is up:

- fix relection mapping on ball so a spheremap looks right on it

sorry I've just found the mapping bug. With this revision a normal sphere map should appear as expected on the ball.

To have a spining prolonged, it must reduce the Kicker "Hit Height".
With the ball of size 50, a "Hit Height" value of 20.1 may be fine.

Thanks fuzzel! :)

Edit: it still needs a small fix: the texture is shown upside down :)

Thanks JP and is fixed with rev1950 in the first post. I also tweaked the reflection of the ball on the table so it should look better now ;)
