There is a bug in 10.4 which I believe may still exist with current beta build (please correct me if I’m wrong and this was addressed - might have missed that)
The bug is the sound manager.
If you want to export a wav file to a folder with an existing wav file name and wish to export the sound as a different file name, VP ignores the new given name and overwrites the existing file

BUG : Seems at least 'Black Hole (Gottlieb 1981) vpx 1.1' is having rendering problems with lights. Several of the playfield lights is just gone. This release seems to have consistent problems. Tested on several 10.6 betas and looks ok there.

Correction. I see it happening on and off with 3556. The procedure is to rename the revision to VpinballX.exe and then do some double-click on the table and sometime use the open recent game dropdown. Of course, complete close of the table in between.

I should probably add that I have a sidecar 'Black Hole (Gottlieb 1981) vps 1.1.vbs' so it loads that file instead of the table script. And I'm running Win7.

Haven't been able to reproduce it with 3541.

Does it work if the additional vbs is not used?

Also: Is this the only table, or are there more malfunctioning?

I did some jumping between version with and without sidecar script earlier. I guess I need to do a better test because the result of 3556 being inconsistent doesn't make any sense to me at least. What I do know is that it is a consistent problem with latest and I haven't been able to reproduce it with 3541.

I've seen it happen on my end too. BH lights disapearing. Not sure why they go away. Or why they come back either. Might try selecting them all and changing the surface, then change it back to what it was. Seems to fix it sometimes.

As far as i can remember the light colour and maybe the intensity too, is scripted in BH. That seems to be the major difference too other tables. Just a thought!

Ok. So I took that sidecar file away. Right now I'm running 3541 as default. Loaded the table up, no problem. Closed it down. Reloaded from recent game dropdown with 3556 and the there where no lights. So. I conclude with that it starts with 3556 but I also know that I have been able to load that table without this problem on that version. As I said, it looks however to always happen with the latest. Weird - I know.

Okay, thanks! So summary: Works always (it seems) with 3541, does most of the time not work with 3556, no matter if external VBS loaded or not?!

And what about 3569?

Cause i cannot repro the missing lights and i also don't saw anything fishy in the range 3541-3556.

Yes. 3541 seems to work all the time. At least I haven't seen it happen with it yet. 3556 is almost like rolling a dice. Latest, 3569 it always happens to me. Very odd indeed.

Can someone else please try to do some load testing of Black Hole for us ? Because the way vpinball is designed you can get whatever version you need thanks to Fuzzel and Randr.

https://vpinball.com...s/vp-10-6-beta/

I should note that I've seen odd loading behavior before. Like some tables has a high chance of crashing if you double click the *.vpx file, but seems to be loading ok when using file -> open. I was given a earlier compile of 1.6beta from Rob so I've had time to compare, and what I noticed was that if I have sidecar script, the same tables doesn't crash anymore on loading when double clicking. Another odd thing I guess, but, not directly related to this table.

OMG.. That's all not good.. But "good" that with 3569 you have a repro where it always happens, so that we can concentrate on that revision.. (although, as said, i cannot repro with the table, but maybe you can PM Fuzzel&me your vpx file, just in case that you have some local changes? Also: Do you use FS, FSS or DT mode? And: What are your video and DOF,etc settings?)

Would be nice to add an option to draw circles instead of rectangles with the wall-tool.

And make it faster in the camera tool when pressing shift additionally.

Somehow it would also be nice to connect points in the editor (e.g. fusing to ramp parts together or two wall objects).

Yes would be nice but not feasible. Especially the feature for walls and joining ramp points.

I see that the volume buttons have been remapped correct + is up - is down.  Thanks for that.  However, VP is not saving the volume level.  When you restart VP it is reset.  Can that be saved?

I would love to be able to enter the inclination and other params zoom, offset etc. editing mode while playing the table (instead of stopiing and running with F6) because many times I feel it's gonna look ok, but while playing it's not to me so back to F6 again and again...

something like if I press F6 whille playing then the table is paused in edit mode, I edit the camera and so on and then resume the play... it is possible at all ?

No that's not possible. Camera mode and normal play mode are separate modes and can't be mixed.

A "select all" (per layer) option would be nice.

Toxie, Fuzzel,

I want to use 3 different VP10 executables (2 copies of the original executable - different names), for the various tables on my cab. Each of the three executables, would contain unique settings for only the ball aspect ratio. Everything else setting-wise, would be the same. Currently, I cant do this because the three executables are all apparently linked, to the same registry settings. So a change to one, effects the others.

The purpose for this is to manually control the ball aspect ratio, to ensure I have no "egg ball" on any of my tables. This is done by way of using one of the three, exectuables.

Any way to have the ability, to have multiple executables, store their unique ball aspect ratios, in three different registry settings? Any way to have a friendly way to do this by way of a new VP setting? Or might it be possible to "easily" tweak/hack this by way of visual studio, for the three individual executables?

This would certainly resolve my egg-ball issues once and for all.

Thanks. :)
