The table your trying has a 32x128 DMD correct? Just checking...

have a look at the glilog.txt file in the FP folder after running a table and it will tell you what was going on - may help explain the problem. let me know what table(s) you are trying.
could be the table you are running - the table has to use a 128x32 DMD using the DMD object (some tables use fake DMD's)

Here are a few tables I've had trouble getting working (yes all changed to 128x32)
Spiderman Ultra - can't get it to work
The Dark Knight Ultra - can't get it to work.
Nightmare on Elm Street (original)- this one works, but there are animations behind the actual scores etc, and some screen animations that do not work on the DMD. I may have to take a video of whats happening if you haven't seen this. It might have to do with the color interpretation?
Working great
Goonies
Tutankahn
Ironman
Masters of the Universe
Family Guy
Transformers
Gremlins
Jaws
Tron Legacy
I haven't set up all my tables yet as each of the ones with videos require some special creativity once you move the DMD to make them look right. Using PinDMD1

There are a few tables with DMD animations that don't work such as T2, POTC etc. Batman has a 16x128 DMD, you need to change it to a 32x128 and move it off the translite, same story with Transformers.
I've disabled compression on the DMD images for the tables not showing all the animations but they're still not working.

This was identified during the testing phase. Some of the Dmds (especially some with graphics behind the score) use images larger than 128 x 32, so although the dmd is set to right size, some of these images are larger. Solution: presently, these need to be resized for them to show up via FP-Intercept.

Once my DMD arrives (so I can do some testing myself!) I will look at putting some graphic resize code in.
At the moment, the code keeps a copy of any textures that are 128x32 since they could be used in an imagelist, however, several tables use larger images than this (256x128 seems common!)
Graphics cards can obviously re-size these on the fly and then use them (although if they are being used on a DMD object then the extra size is wasted! - some games (black knight being one) just put them on an overlay)
so, the working plan is that any texture of up to 256x256 will be resized to 128x32 and kept, just in case it is used.
this would still mean that compressed textures will not work - not sure it's worth using on images that small anyway - on my machine I just have texture compression disabled in the video options, but a better fix would be to make sure DMD images are not selected to be compressed in the table itself

Spiderman Ultra - can't get it to work
Go into the editor, change the HUD dmd to 16x128 and restart. I think it's getting confused because of the two, that fixed it for me.

Here is a video of FP Attack From Mars on my Amber X-Pin. I just love the animations of this table.

can you point me in the right direction (or is there a tutorial?)
-I have an xpin green and the pindmd2. al I can do right now is to look at them...
-Problem is that it seem that the green is not self power (there is a colored cable with four female pins in it)
I was under the impression the whole setup was usb and it seem to be an important cable to plug somewhere
-There is also supposed to be a firmware upgrade for the pindmd2, what is it?
I like poutine...Not the russian guy but the fries and gravy and cheese curds stuff.

Steve your X-Pin should be 5v and it can be powered from your PC power supply via a molex connector. The pinDMD firmware upgrade I believe is for the pinLED DMD, not our X-Pins, I think...
I'll send you a couple pics.

usb just powers the pinDMD unit not the DMD (2/3amp, usb only 500ma max)
latest firmware available in my sig - you don't need it but you can upgrade if you wish it just has a few tweaks ![]()

I made it work connecting directly to the molex cable...the DMD power on and display "pindmd.com"...but thats about it..
-All file are in the FP folder.
-Pindmd plugged into the xpin
-xpin powered on
-signal cable connected to the pindmd
-FP table with dmd on
Nothing happen... still see "pindmd.com"
Any clue anyone?
Edit* could it be the firmware tha russ talked about?

For those off us with 3 screen cabs, is it possible to use this to draw a dmd on the third screen?I think there was early talks about it, is this still in the pipeline?
It's possible, but not high on my agenda at the moment (learning ASP.NET for a job I hope to be starting soon!)
I'm hoping I can 'borrow' the DMD code out of pinmame and bolt that into the program instead, but have not experimented at all. (another option was to add a dummy driver to pinmame and just call that)
