Don't think it is possible. VPX and Pinmame is kind of two different programs. We like to see them as one, but, they really aren't. What you could do is to write a script that changes all the registry keys so all tables uses pinsound, then have another script that reverts them.

I see, thanks.

Definitely interested in the naming the layers part of that new feature.

and  also music encapsulation with table vpx.

this is coming

I'm actually not so sure. It could be that one could actually change the sound mode from within the script (via Controller SoundMode). Somebody tried this, but i don't remember if it actually worked.

But it would be possible only for particular tables because it would involve table script changing to change soundmode on command line custom param... ? Or can it be done globally somehow ? maybe a global vbs or something ?

Not sure if this is a good idea. What if somebody puts each object into a separate layer and the table has 200 layers? Man, this would be aweful to maintain.

maybe vpx in 3d ?

vpx is already in 3D, as you can see when running tables via F6, or in the VPVR fork

Well a fool with a tool is still a fool ;) honestly why would someone do that? That would be the same if you would add only one pixel to a layer to build an image in Photoshop. You can do first though but that's stupid.

I made a topic by the past, but never been answered... It could be very great, if we can't tuning FOV separately for horizontal and vertical. We can setup fov like if table was on a cylinder instead of a pyramid. The result could be more good than the layback setting.

With a fov like a cylinder, we could make fov like we see the front on his top, and the back of flipper with and angle, but without change the angle of the perspective from center to the side. This fact, it could possible to give an angle and a fov to table, without to make sideboard visible, or without to make a trapezoidal table.

That's entirely an edge case, actually. Photoshop has had this sort of functionality for years, and I have yet to see a file come in where I work that was anywhere near that many layers, I think I've seen at most 30 layers. I think the closest we might get is someone putting every frame of an animated primitive setup into individual layers. And it's guaranteed that if someone tries the "one layer per single object" that there would be at least one member in the support thread asking, "what the squack were you trying to do?"

The possibility of many more layers and being able to label them....now THAT is a very welcome feature.

Integrating music functions is also very much welcome.

Great work guys!

VP has made leaps and bounds thanks to you guys, we are all in your debt.  :love39:

I feel like we've squeezed about as much as we can out of VP in many regards (I'm sure lots of minor improvements can still be made).  Moving forward, especially with VP-VR becoming increasingly popular I think a top priority for the next generation of VP will need to be full dynamic 3d lighting.  Also perhaps increased support for PBR maps to go with dynamic lighting.   https://www.youtube....h?v=PjGCtnEDDeU

I guess this is something to request in the VPVR topic, not for the current VPX..

not very useful (11 sufficient)
a primitive remaining collidable in dynamics would be more so.

but thank you all the same.

Unlimited layers are welcome here and more than likely other people will find it useful.

If you need to watch Netflix/Blurays when playing a game just turn the telly on innit.
