I think PNG is better than TGA, but I know what you want :) ... to use the images from the FP tables directly, without need for converting them to PNG, since FP supports TGA :)

A built in DMD should be a dream come true, but for that to work VPX should need to support several screens. And that is not happening just now. The same as to support other sounds formats, like OGG, which is in the list of things to do, but it will need to wait for now too.

You Right!  :db:
Actually vpx accepts TGA files but to add them to the table you have to write the name of the image plus the extension .tga and you're ready at the table. :dblthumb:

Attached File  1.jpg   147.38KB   10 downloads

I currently use a file converter for .tga I just want to save a little of time like the ogg files

Please, if you can help me with a small contribution to update my work team and continue to make more tables I will be eternally grateful.

Feature request: to have the option for both the camera mode text block as well as the F11 stats to be shown on the bottom left corner of the table rather than the top left of the screen. This may help besitos and cabinet users alike. Thanks in advance.

I second this!
I also like this idea! Better for me would be top or bottom on right corner. Closer to my flipper buttons.

Wait! Some people like myself have aprons over the playfield! maybe an option to place it wherever you want.

i'll put in my ideas for f6 camera view:

1>  support a command line option to start a table in camera-view-edit mode for front-end launching. OR even better,  while in any table press a assigned key to switch to camera view mode.

2>  in camera view,  support many keyboard keys to allow the adjustments if possible.  not just toggle the settings and then adjust that one setting.  example R/F  to always +/- xscale.   T/G to always +/- yscale

3>  if we have #2,  then even go further to say R/F to adjust xscale and V to revert to original xscale before 'changes'.

this would allow Popper Remote on my phone to have all buttons for all camera view on one page (other can just use a wireless keyboard) to easily tweak all view/camera settings.

I know that's a lot but i get 'tons' of feature suggestions for PinUP so its nice to spead the ideas around :)

In addition, maybe discuss whether f6 camera mode should be in "Exclusive Fullscreen" disabled mode, sofirst time menu setting popups are visible

rev3684 is up:

- pre-filter envmap-diffuse-pre-calc with gauss to remove under-sampling artifacts for high contrast HDRs (i.e. ones that contain something close to sun brightness)
- limit glossy/mipmap-hack lookup to not use the lowest miplevel (as this is horrific looking)
- add tga to file extensions list
- fix wrong v-clamp mode for environment lookups
- tiny beautification of mesh import dialog
- fix tab order in material manager dialog

I wanted to report this "problem" (it seems an old behaviour as jpsalas said): https://www.vpforums...e=5#entry427192

Sometimes I connect to the picab trough remote desktop (RDP). In that case the audio card is not seen and the audio manager is always empty. With this scenario, If I make a change and save the table I lose all the sounds.

Thanks for all.

I have tested this later revision and I see what toxie wrote about the playfield and other pictures that are lighter than before. But I also see more contrast with the shadows, and that is good :)

Go to the VP preferences and select "Keys, Nudge and DOF",

in the lower right part of the window there is the checkbox to enable / disable the B2S.

So your summary overall is, that it's okay? Or too different from before?

Other opinions?

I haven't played that many different tables yet. Maybe we have to give it a bit more time. First impression is thumbs up.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

I noticed a difference but not significant. Is it possible it had a greater effect on images that were brighter to begin with? Bright games looked brighter but dark games looked about the same. I'm using a 4k calibrated screen and the difference was within the realm of "could be placebo."

For me its good. A little lighter, but nothing that can be adjusted if one prefer a darker table. I don't think normal players will notice it unless you tell them :)

Desktop users wishlist, minor stuff:

  • Being able to enter a custom resolution
  • Option to disable the window titlebar when VPX is not fullscreen (hotkey maybe so you can still move it around?)
  • Remove the border on the VPX window (there is always a border even if you set a window resolution that matches your screen width for instance)

These things would make it easier to create a desktop VPX setup together with B2s/PUP windows.

I addressed the latter two.. Now by default there is no window border or caption in windowed mode..

And if you bring up the pause dialog (via ESC) then the border and caption pops up (and vanishes again)..

Custom resolution can be done in the registry already (not optimal, but at least possible)..

Awesome thanks, solved it temporarily with a autohotkey script but this is better. :)

I haven't been too involved lately, but was just reading over this thread and wanted to give a shout out to toxie and fuzzel for working so closely with the table authors and being so responsive to requests and bug reports.  You guys are really awesome.    :dblthumb:

When I use an Xbox 360 controller on my or anyone's table I get flipper sounds but not sound for any part of the plunging process. The sounds work if plunged with the keyboard.

This my also be the cycle to sort out analog controller for dual switch flippers, or common procedure so VPX would be in line with virtual pinball in general in regards to this controller. I assume a real dual switch button works, but the higher end of the pot on the xbox analog trigger is standard for virtual pinball, at least outside a cab..
