Congratulations!

So am I correct that from 10.x on, table orientation (FS vs. Desktop) has become a setting and there won't be a any need for providing two vpt/vpx files anymore?

@freezy: never say never, but most tables should be able to ship as just one file now. only if the table author is really crazy about some very specific look that needs highly specialized tweaking for DT and FS, then there will still be 2 variants necessary.

@marvo: you can take all files and put them into your normal VP8/VP9 installation folder. The .exe is named differently (so all versions can coexist), the .dlls are backwards compatible, and the core .vbs files are also backwards compatible.

Thanks toxie. Can we agree for a term for those FS-as-well-as-Desktop-compatible-tables? How about "unified"?

Cheers!

Thanks to Fuzzel and Toxie for your dedicated effort into creating VP10 (and improving VP9 also)

Thanks to mukuste for getting us to Dirext9 and overhauling the physics engine

Game on!

Many thanx to all for VP10! The new 3D ball feels extremely realistic - even compared to PM5! And the new light effects are also great!

I would recommend to use the value 270 for default cab rotation in the backdrop settings (instead of 0). But values for both DT and FS are a really great idea and will certainly remove the need of a specific version! :)

Ouch. I have about a half-dozen builds in various stages of completion, most of which have no script of their own yet. Do I have to rebuild them from scratch, or can I copy and paste to a new VP10 empty template?

The default table and jps table were never set up for full screen.
If you look in the backdrop you will see dt and fs settings for the table view.
If an author chooses to he can have them both setup so all the user has to do is check or uncheck the box to switch from fs to dt. I have monster bash set up this way already.
No need to have 2 versions of each table anymore.
Ella: its not really backwards compatible. But basically you would need to add a material to every object. Change the physics for just about every object. And adjust some scripting that is no longer used ir has changed

Honestly that is what i did. It made it easier to make sure all objects got a material and physics adjustment
