Runs great for me.  Thanks JP, Grizz, ArcadeMaximus and everyone else.  Very fun but hard table (10mill is SO far away!).

Looks great, the x-wing model looks fantastic!

Problems:

I do find that the x-wing doesn't always fire though, sometimes works sometimes not - seems worse on the jackpot shot than the multiball shot.

Also it sometimes thinks the ball is in the x-wing when it's not, and prompts you to shoot, even though the ball is in play elsewhere on the table.

Don't know if those are table bugs or pinmame/rom/emulation problems?

I'm also experiencing the same issues with the x-wing

I came across the "no ball in x-wing" too. I shot the left ramp. The ball went up under the turret, triggered the x-wing shot, but it didnt have enough power so it rolled back down the ramp. The x-wing continued to rotate till end of ball.

As far as shooting the x-wing once its loaded what button even does it? I tried the launch ball but i swear it didnt work. I have been firing using both flippers, but the shot seems delayed and somewhat in accurate. The accuracy is probably just me though :P

ArcadiusMaximus,

Same thing here with the shooting on the x-wing. The enter key (plunger) on my set up fires the ball, but the x-wing seems to have to go all the way down and start to come up for me to be able to fire. Not sure if that's how it is on the real table but the fire button dosnt seem to be active until it's on it's way back to its original position.

Yes, I know about the X-Wing cannon not firing the whole time. The fire button is the enter key, the normal launch button. The X-Wing ROM test passes, so it detects the 2 switches, so why is firing the whole time is a mystery to me? I was hoping someone will discover why?

My mother died last Wednesday, so I haven't tested the table very much, just checked the lights, switches and solenoids and they all seem to work. The table was finished, and ArcadeMaximus had also finished the XWing so I released the table. I think this error must be a kind of timing in the mech routines, so I may need to adjust when the switches are triggered. Since I haven't a clue about the real table it will be a kind of trial and error.

JP ... I am also very sorry for your loss.   I lost my Mom last year and still think about her most every day.

Just be aware that i broke some stuff with rev. 436 and up.. So please stay with 435 and below!

Anyone having problems might want to check this. ^^

436-439 have issues with the command line so running anything through hyperpin is an issue, but 440+ has that fixed. If you are referring to a performance issue where the tables are actually running through vp alone (not hyperpin), the changes made in 436-439 shouldn't be an issue and would point to other problems.

Koadic,   I agree with you that the problem is not in the code of VP.    I just can't for the life of me find the issue.   Native 9.14 runs fine with no ball or table load issues but when I load 439 revision I get shutter in varying degrees or tables hang on load.  Since I have the same computer configuration as most that are successfully running this revision,  I guess I will have to try a wipe of VP and start over unless anyone has another thought.

That is sad news in this positive thread. My condolences JP. Take your time, the bugs can wait and indeed maybe someone else can come up with the solution.

Thanks to all. I'm ok. We flew to Spain to help my father make all the arrangements since he is in the hospital too, but he is getting better. Now I'm back in Oslo. And the best for me is to continue working and making tables just like before, it is a good medicine. I'll see if I can find the right combination of numbers for the mech switches so the cannon will always work. I guess the switches tells the cannon when it is ready to fire, and just now it works the first time and it only works again when it has traveled back and forth. So just now this is the only bug I can find.

JP, I'm very sorry to learn of your loss, my condolences to you and your family. I know you visited and vacationed with your parents fairly frequently considering they were still back home and I hope you take some comfort in the times you got to spend with her.  I'm sure you made her quite happy taking these opportunities travelling to be with them.
