I'll receive my minicab tomorrow afternoon,i took a day off to receive it, i'm not even sure i will be able to sleep tonight !!

so excited....
i ordered it 4 Months ago !   (Most of the delay is my fault because i went in big hollydays , Virtuapin customers communications with Noah was perfect)

Thx Noah , now i can't wait playing my first table and post my feedbacks !

Got it now !  first impression : every single part is high quality , i was amased to see my front HPs were BOSS

The bass makes the cab to vibrate like the real thing with the mechanical sounds , it is fucking awesome

Got my mini a few days ago, well worth the wait for the quality here!  Transferred in 97 tables from a friend's collection, started up a spreadsheet off the XML database to track which ones were tested, working or needed fixing, and my personal rating on which ones are my favorites.  So many little gems to be found! 

 

Last night I watched Monday night football and had a few beers while working my way through 9 different tables, tinkering and marking down on my spreadsheet.  So worth it!

 

There certainly is a good deal of software tinkering to be done to get the tables to fully work every time, I'll save the details for a software thread somewhere.  As far as the cabinet goes, the triple monitor setup is fairly easy to work with, the sound is indeed fabulous and does give a good deal of force feedback when playing most tables.  

 

I do want to get some sort of dedicated table or stand for it, and considering trying to make it a sit down height like a cocktail arcade table just so I can play longer then standing up with it!  

 

One thing I'm unsure of is finding how to get at an ethernet port so I could download components directly to the table.  The USB slot is very conveniently located in the back to transfer things by USB connection, or I could hook up a USB network option.  

The second is how to get the front metal piece off to get at the main glass and under for cleaning/maintenance purposes.  I had a friend over who's got a full size table and he was looking for a latch underneath to pull it up so he could show me how to keep it clean and where things might fit if I did want to add a LEDwiz or other accessories, but we couldn't figure it out.  

 

But overall the cabinet is wonderful and I'm having a great time playing the games and learning more and more about getting tables working to their fullest potential!  Thanks so much!

Hello, and happy to hear you're enjoying your VirtuaPin mini cab! To remove the lockdown bar, open the coin door, and you'll see two thumb screws, one on each side. Unscrew and remove them. Lift the bar straight up. Slide the glass out toward you. About 1/3 of the way back, on each side is another set of thumb screws. Remove those and lift the front of monitor straight up. It's hinged, so it lifts quite easily. As for ethernet, you could run a cable to the motherboard through the same access as the power cord, or, as I strongly suggest, head to the local Walmart, Meijer, or whatever is near, and pick up a USB wireless adaptor. This way, you choose when to be online by either having it plugged in or not. Glad to hear you're having fun!

Absolutely. We do custom work all the time. The one thing about it is there's not at all much space to work with under the hood.

Would you prefer to place your PC inside, or would you like video ports on the outside to just plug it in when you want to play/develop tables?

Either way, I'd do it with no PC for $1950.

That's really cool seeing MAME run on there.  The size and aspect are perfect for a number of games!  What are you using for those inputs?  USB joystick? Keyboard?

Unfortunatly i only just plug an xbox 360 pad on the usb port to play MAME at the moment. I plan something better tho, but it does the job for now. Yes i was surprised by the good aspect ratio too.
And the sound of this cab is just wonderful.

Hy there,

I find it really amazing work,what you guys all have done with emulating pinballs.

My question is:

-If I bought this mini cab with the mentioned set up(hardware and software),could it handle the latest visual pinball x tables with either of the 2 front-end(-Hyperpin or pinballx)?

-Would it run them smooth?
