Wow, nice cab! Now that you have a dedicated Batman Forever VP cab, you will have to start building yourself a Virtual Cab to play all the other tables on.

No fair cheating and loading them on that dedicated cab! Lol.

Hi gogo,

I built my cab into an empty Silverball Mania and one of the the first tables I tried to run there was the Silverball pin itself. It is really cool, if You run the table, Your cab is made of.

At the moment I am building a mini-cab with a 24" playfield and a 17" backglass. The buttons are all wired, the PC is set up and the only thing missing is the backbox.

Regards

Michael

Dmd has a higher resolution than 128x32, it looks quite bad in a real dmd, that is more problematic than missing shades, but that's how it is

I also have a bad DMD display with my PinDMD2.

IPDB says: "Notable Features: ....  Dot Matrix Display, at 192x64 pixels, is larger than standard, and is powered by a 68000 CPU."

So it looks like that only Russ can help us with a new PinDMD firmware ... :unknw:

Found at least 4 other Sega tables in IPDB with 192x64 DMD:

Baywatch

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein

Maverick The Movie

Roach Racers

 Using Win7 x64, VP 9.9.1 & VP Physmod5 & VP10, unified PinMAME 2.23, PinballX 2.12, PinDMD V2 (Real DMD), I-PAC2 button controller, Ledwiz with DOF R2, Nanotech Plunger

Hi Brtlkat,

if You want to run the table in desktop mode, You have to download a different version. Please search for "Batman Forever" in Downloads and You will find my desktop version there.

Michael

Wait, on Russ' PinDMD.com website is already a firmware version called "rev630-16-64x192.dfu" for PinDMD v2

I will give it a try ...

Layback is personal preference...

I still scratch my head as to why it's brought up in release threads. It's easy to fix and change to the way you like it on most tables, just play with the backdrop settings until you find something you like..

Every table on my cab has just about the same settings or similar settings b/c that's the way I like to play, so I took some time and changed them all to my personal preference...

Nice table Michael it looks fun I'll be adding this to my cab later today. I'm looking foreword to playing it..

Thank you..... :-)

It's not so easy for most people to adjust this. I was in that position a year ago, I had no idea what any of those settings were, so saying it's an easy fix is a bit of a stretch. It's not a simple value change, on this table, lights, ramps, almost everything has moved and are no longer in place. It's fairly standard to have _some_ layback on a full screen table. Seeing a full screen table set to 0, and basically looking top down at the thing, it is hard to play. I think a table should be released with default settings for 90% of users in mind, it's just a nag and the table plays fine, but if I don't mention it (and provide a quick fix as I did), someone else is going to and won't provide the same solution. I wouldn't bring it up if I didn't think it should be changed, I keep my critiques to myself most of the time.

Wait, on Russ' PinDMD.com website is already a firmware version called "rev630-16-64x192.dfu" for PinDMD v2

I will give it a try ...

No, this was not the right way.

After flashing the 64x192 firmware it looks like PinDMD2 expects a real 192x64 DMD: the DMD was cropped.

Fortunately it could flash it back to rev598-16.dfu with 128x32 ... puuh ..

LCD DMD users will miss this thrills  ;-)

lol if you read my statement you will notice I said "most tables"..

I don't disagree some tables are harder than others to figure out and sometimes you have to play with the settings.. But all in all instead of mucking up a release thread maybe you should post stuff like this in the layback settings thread. You can find it with a simple search..

You will also notice I had some problems with this stuff 2 years ago with my questions I asked. But after playing with it a little and the new settings in the latest builds it's much easier now.. :-)

OK, 1:0 for LCD DMDs.

Scaling down from 64 to 32 pixels is somewhat feasable, but from 192 down to 128 you should have half pixels on the DMD  :-(

Assume that also Russ could not help with a firmware change ...

Russdx did what he could, 192x64 is converted to 128x32, and it gives that result.
That is not a big deal, i have pindmd off with that table, and the dmd is on the bg screen behind the db2s in a 3 screen config, i don't want to see the grill, i do the same with scarface.
I won't change for a lcd because of a workaround, for 5 tables on 250 :)

Thanks mfuegemann! If you look in my dropbox I took your updated table and added all of my images I reworked and added a few light images and finished the apron and changed layback settings.. If you like it feel free to change what you want and upload it... thx again for the great table

Wow Loadweapon.   You made a great table look even better.     Both of you guys are amazing.   I do like the lay back a little better.   I love being able to see the Bat Signal.   You guys have mad skills.   I hope Mfuegemann will continue to work this one.   Based on his other tables, I know he is a perfectionist (I can relate) and is open to constructive feedback.   Thanks so much.
